It's on the front page of the ad, but I didn't feel like going out this morning so I tried buying it online. It worked!

Go to Target.com and search for Westinghouse 32" television. You should get two results. I don't recall or care :) what the other one is. The one I bought is an even better deal - 1080i, normally $280.

Free shipping, if you have a Target credit or debit card you get another 5% off (!), and of course tax if applicable :(.

I understand Best Buy is also selling a 32" Westinghouse tv, 1080p LCD HDTV for $199.99, retail price is $349.99. I don't know the difference, but if you're interested, it's something to compare.

Good point, Kathy. Here's http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_1080i_and_1080p the most current explanation I could find explaining the difference between "i"'and "p"; I liked Cnet's better, but it's from 2005!

I had the Best Buy one in my cart - but I'm lazy ;). No, seriously. While I can drag the box into my apartment when whatever carrier delivers it, Best Buy would make me pick it up. I do consider myself lucky, though; of all the BB stores within driving distance, only two still had that tv in stock yesterday. One is the closest Best Buy to where I live!

But considering I'm watching a twenty+ year old tube tv that's so bad it displays reds and oranges as black, and the internal clock is fourteen hours off...

Got to Target at opening this morning and picked one up. They only had five in the store and four were bought while we were there.

They also had a laptop for $197 and only two in stock, both sold within a few minutes of store opening.

Best Buy is offering free shipping. Is it not available in your area?

Nope. Just store pickup.

I'm going from a twenty year old 20" tube tv to this. I don't watch sports much, so the non-progressive scanning display doesn't matter to me.

I have not found anyone who's had luck with Westinghouse. We bought one a few years back (2006 maybe?), and it slowly over time grew a black line from top to bottom on the left hand side. It was about 1" thick at its widest point and SO annoying. DH's aunt bought the same TV around the same time but a few inches bigger and same thing happened to her. There's a reason this brand is so cheap.;)

Well darn I was trying to save you a trip! Well any upgrade of a tv is better than nothing right? Enjoy! :woohoo:

My DH was at Target about 20 minutes before opening and was able to get both the TV and the laptop.

Didn't have much time to look up reviews for the TV (originally was only going to get computer, but they let him get both), which will be used in the office, so mostly for the kiddos.

Congrats to all those that we able to get the great buys this weekend!

any info or reviews about the laptop? It sounds like a good deal for my daughter to type her papers on and do school work on. I am sure Target is sold out of them by now but do you think they would do a raincheck for one?

My sister inlaw picked up the laptop from Target this morning. It is bigger than a netbook but smaller than a reg laptop. The deal breaker was no cd/dvd drive. She ended up keeping an emachines 14 inch laptop for 199.00 at BestBuy she picked up saturday instead.

We bought the laptop as well. Our store had quite a few, maybe 10 to start.

I saw the Best Buy Black friday ad (at least I think it was this years) with a laptop in it for 199. If I get that, I will return this to target.

It's not a bargain when you consider you'll have to replace it in a year or two. Spend the extra money on a Sony or Samsung, which can last a decade.

I have two in my home that get several hours a day of use. Both are a couple years old and so far, no issues at all! Very happy (one is huge and one is medium sized) My sister also has a 2-3 year old one that's perfect. Same thing with the Sony and Samsung tv's we all have.

.

If you look carefully at the specs on the site, the one from target, despite being labelled as 1080i (meaning it can support 1080i input streams) doesn't actually display at a full 1080 lines of resolution. The resolution of the screen is 1366x768.

Ideally, one would probably want a 1080p set, that is capable of displaying the full HD resolution of 1920x1080.

Don't get me wrong, not everyone will even notice or care about the difference. But, it's something you should know.

Thanks - this TV is fine for me. The one I'm watching now is, well... it's hard to even see the picture sometimes. Trust me, anything is better than what I've got!
