You are not being a heel C.Ann. Do the interviews.

C.Ann

You are the one who has to get up 5 days a week and go to a job. If you love being in the medical field, by all means sweetie, pursue this opportunity.

Benefits are a very important part of the "package". And if he is willing to at least match your salary at first, that is good. You can also ask him in the interview regarding job performance = raise after how many months.

I'm sorry, but this is YOUR life, not the life of the people you are working for now.

Please, do what you honestly think is best for you. Ask yourself, if I could have the medical field job, which I love and truly want, and better benefits, but I don't take it...am I going to go to work every day "kicking" myself and not being truly happy?

Hope this helps in some small way.

C. Ann, what would you tell me if I were in the same situation?

Hey! That's not fair!! LOL

Okay - I'm going to follow through on it and see where it goes..

You're getting good advice here. YOU have to watch out for YOU. The fact that you feel guilty, or how difficult it will be to leave for a better matching position with better benefits shouldn't keep you from taking care of yourself.

Does that make sense? I dreaded leaving my last job, I really enjoyed the work and the people, but I got my ideal position with my ideal company for about 20% more pay and better benefits. Ended up that if I had stayed at the old job, I would have had to relocate about a year after I left (they moved.) so it all works out for a reason.....

Go for it, C.Ann! If it's something you really want to do, don't pass up the opportunity for it. Good luck!! :teeth:
