hello!
i would like to tell you all about my 10-day trip (for 2 adults) budget and how it went. i especially think that the 12000$ woman should listen so that she can replan a fun trip in the future and hopefully catch the disney bug.
here are the details:
*resort: all-star movies (2 nights) and all-star music (7 nights) = 841$
*7-day hopper plus for 2 = 700$
*air = 340$ for 2
*mears airport shuttle = 50$
*daily budget = 990$ and that included 40$ for lunches and sodas and misc. and 70$ for dinners everyday
We did not rent a car and that saved us a lot of money. while the disney buses do take extended and long routes, it was very much worth it. also, we packed breakfast bars so that we did not have to pay the disney prices for breakfast (saves a fortune!).
my husband and i very much recommend the all-star music. it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the luxury resorts, but it is soooo much fun. the pools are great and so is the cafeteria. the room service was terrific. while the rooms were small, i would not have paid several hundred dollars for anything else because, after all, we spent the days in the parks, not the rooms. we don't drink, so 70$ more than covered meals at most of the nice restaurants (except Citrico's where entres are 30$ and up).
disney can be extraordinarily expensive, but if you are carefull, it doesn't have to be. one last word, don't buy into the disney reort packages. if you do the math it is never worth it!
Ciao!
