300+ Minute Wait for Radiator Springs Racers

We have been here the past two days and the only crazy busy lines are for the matterhorn and the Carsland rides. Overall the parks are very manageable. We hardly have waited in any lines.

We were at DCA at about 5ish until 8-ish on Friday night.

We walked on to Ariel and rode twice without getting off! We also rode Mater's and waited for 30 minutes (stated 40). The rest of CL was wall to wall people, but overall DCA seemed very quiet!

Thanks, Hydroguy, for some perspective. We'll be in Disneyland Resort in 10 days for the first time and we are not excited about the crowds. But, as WDW vets, anytime we can ride TSMM in under an hour seems dreamy.

What is not being talked about much are the lines for other rides not in CL.

Right now it is 5PM in Socal and TP's Lines reports:

DL

BTMRR - 13 min
HM - 12 min
Indy - 34 min
PP - 25 min
POTC - 7 min
SM - 39 min
Splash - 38 min
ST - 25 min

DCA

CA Screamin - 14 min
GRR - 22 min
Soarin - 12 min
ToT - 46 min
TSMM - 31 min

Bottom line from what I see and know to be long or short lines at DLR? All lines at things other than Cars Land are pretty darn short. Except for ToT for some reason. I am not there but with that wait time of 46 minutes I suspect it must have been down today.

So many folks are talking about crowds as if the sky is falling. On Day 2 of the "new DLR" it is really only Cars Land that has the crowds. Not sure how this will continue throughout the summer but I and some others here have been prognosticating this for the last couple months. DL will look normal this summer (if not lower than normal with so many drawn to DCA) and DCA will look fairly normal except for CL.

Everything but Matterhorn was minimal wait since Friday (outside Carsland of course). We actually walked on ToT at one point. I had a friend who rode Goofy's 3 times in a row within a very short duration of time on Friday. Even PP had a 20 min wait mid afternoon.

The crowds really were not that extreme, except in Carsland itself. I think that is also partially perspective. :) It is really Route 66, so not a lot of turns, side roads, ect. Disney is also well prepared for the crowds and was ahead of the game. I was very impressed with how Disney handled everything. :)

Of course tomorrow and next Sunday are supposed to be the BIG days in terms of crowds.

Just what I am hoping for too. We will be there in 8 days but doing Disney on the BIG day - the 24th and hoping all those APers are over in CA. Feeling a bit more hopeful. But so excited for Carsland. FP, single rider and child swap at rope drop might get us a few good rides. Maybe?

At DL, probably. At DCA it will be a challenge all summer but still manageable except for areas noted previously.
