It was 1980!

Remember when you were young and an adult would tell you about something that happened 30 years ago and it would seem like ancient history.

omg....

I remember in the 70s telling my Mom that I liked the clothes in the 40s! She went on BLAH BLAH BLAH about how UGLY they were and how she hated them.

Last week my son told me he LOVED the clothing from the 70s because they were so cool.

I heard myself telling him how UGLY they were and blah blah blah....:lmao:

Okay, I started working in the broadcasting industry in 1980. Now I hear myself telling the 20 year olds how we used to do this WITHOUT computers!!!

I'm oooooold....

In 1980 I was 10 and couldn't wait to be grown. I would sit and watch Dance Fever with eyes wide open and try to do their moves to my Studio 54 album, which I listened to with as much enthusiasm as I listened to Kiss. I had KISS and Shaun Cassidy stickers on my door. I adored Andy Gibb. I tried to be Julie McCoy with my clipboard. I loved Star Trek. Roller Disco was hugely popular The song Cars by Randy Numan was an amazing treat for my ears, and Pop Musik was just as good.

Double Dutch Bus was about to hit the airwaves the following year.... gotta love the funk, and hairbands were a heartbeat away!

I LOVED growing up in the 80's!

I was 9 and I loved Andy Gibb also.

Not to make anyone feel old but...that was the year before MTV hit the airwaves. MTV debuted on 8/1/81. And yes, I'm old enough to remember life before MTV.

In 1980 I was partying at Studio 54 and thought Andy Gibb was a "cute little version" of my REAL crush, Barry Gibb!! :lmao:

In 1980, 30 years ago seemed the distant past. Yet now, 30 years seems relatively recent. (For me, anyway).

In 1980 I was 9, it was the year before my life turned up side down when my parents split, I can remember it. :sad1:
Thank goodness it is 30 years ago!

More positive side, I did not think 30 years ago in 30 years I would be married to such a great guy and have to 2 wonderful sons. :thumbsup2

1980 was my worst year ever. The further away that year is, the better.:)

In 1980, I was -7.

Me too! :thumbsup2
