I have been contemplating buying more points at either HH or VB. I wanted a small contract of 50 points or less I looked at TSS and Fidlelity and just seemed to have proplems and no Feb use year so I called up my guide who was not there and spoke to Jim and in 30min I had my Points at HH with Feb use year. Plus my Maintence Fee is added to my existing contract! It was so easy!

I did the same thing back in January...It is TOOO easy!:thumbsup2

Congrats!

Congratulations! I thought you were going to wait until you actually were at HHI and had the matured CD:lmao:. Well, maybe I have you mixed up with someone else?

Enjoy your HHI points! We're relatively new HHI owners and can't wait to use our points there. For us, it will be Memorial weekend in 2012.

Congratulations! After all the headaches you read about on these boards re: resale contracts (and I for one just closed on my 2nd resale contract)... it seems so simple to buy direct. I have been watching and waiting for a small AKV contract with my UY now for months. If it doesn't show up sooner or later we will buy direct. Anyhow, YAY for more points! :thumbsup2

I too have been considering a 50 pt add-on at HHI. Now that Disney is charging closing costs on add-ons I'm curious as to what the closing cost would be on a small contract like this. If you don't mind providing it, what were the closing costs on your 35 pointer?

Congrats on the new points!

Just curious if you know - if you finance an add-on through Disney, what is the minimum downpayment? I think last time we added on it was 20% and just wondered if it was still the same.

I wish it was that easy for me! I've been wanting to add 25 points at old key west but had to go on a waitlist to purchase. A week later still no points and no one can tell me how much longer it might be - just that others are ahead of me in the queue. :(
Waaahhhhh!!!!!

I think closing was $38 for my 35 points. Not bad.
That amount was the TOTAL Disney charged you to close the purchase?! That sounds like only the amount for recording the deed with the Orange County Comptroller's Office. So, they didn't require title insurance or charge you any administrative fees for handling the closing?

This is awesome! :thumbsup2 I may need to check into this.

We have wanted to check into adding new points as well. I might do this when we go next month. :goodvibes

Congrats on your new points. Sounds like Disney needs start a commercial campaign similar to Staples "That was easy."

We were told that the only thing available for OKW right now were 25 points in a Sept UY. We tried to add on there but we have an Oct UY so we bought points at AKV instead.

It was SUPER easy. We called our guide, told her what we wanted and gave her our debit card number over the phone. She said our points will be in our account tomorrow. :thumbsup2

I did not finance anything used some extra money we had and used money from a CD that will expire in late June so there you have it. If you want to finance it you have to get 50 points for us this is just what we needed. The points were there the next am that I checked. Having same use year made a big difference. Plus my guide just added the maintence fees to my existing contract that is financed. All is good! I just did not want to use money and then sit and wait if was spending about the same amount of money.

We added on at Hilton Head after trying to get a week long stay there over three different weekends (we were very flexible) but be couldn't get anything!

So - we added on as a slightly closer to home getaway that we could easily do over a long weekend - without flying - and without park tickets, dining plan etc.

We have actually NEVER been to HHI, but we got a really great deal on a big contract - and it seemed to fit out needs, our budget, and will definitely be a great getaway.

I have heard that hammocks are absolutely magnetic! :)

I can't wait to kill an entire day in a hammock, or on the beach, by the pool.

Charge the iPod, charge the Kindle, and don't forget the sunscreen! :cloud9:

The smallest contract we own is 85 points at Saratoga Springs - we really bought that in hopes of getting a tree house at 11 months sometime soon! Can't get them at 7 months - at least we haven't been able to!

I too added on this past Monday direct for OKW. Called and they had 51 points at that time with the August use year. Picked up 25, closing costs were $34.60. I could not find 25 points on resale market for August.
