I'm just hanging out on your thread because we too our about 30 days out. You are way ahead of me on your planning list. :coffee:

What is the "Mickey Mail" ? :confused3

Where can I get Disney park maps? How much is average on eBay for pins compared to parks? I've never done pin trading? Any tips on that?

I am at that point too, and here is my list, I keep thinking I am forgetting stuff so my list keeps growing.
*Mickey mail came in this week
*packing list made for each child plus me and DH
*New walking shoes for the kids purchased and being broken in
*Lanyards out and checked
*pins ordered
*meds/first aid pack rechecked for expired meds and restocked
*Basket out for toss in items as I find them, so far it has (laundry sheets, ponchos, extra sun shades, puzzle books for the kids)
*Tip envelopes printed and filled and placed in the disney notebook
*photo pass + ordered
*ADR's printed and in disney notebook
*List of electronics and their chargers printed off and taped to the the suitcase so we don't forget to pack them the day we leave.

Park maps can be ordered for free on the WDW website, they take about 4 weeks

You don't just trade with cast members, you trade with other pinheads too. The etiquette is to politely approach a person (guest or CM) with pins ask if they are willing to trade. If they don't tell you, ask which pins they are willing to trade. Then make an offer of pin for pin. You take your pin off of your lanyard and hold it out in your hand then the person you are trading with will place their pin in your hand and take your pin. Typically you keep your own pin back. Some private traders will wheel and deal with you but you can always refuse a trade, just politely say, "No thanks, thank you anyway." and move on. Oh, and if you see a CM with a green lanyard they only trade with kids 12 and under.

DH and I buy pin lots of 100 off eBay to use as traders (you should look for a price of about $1 or less per pin). We then load up our lanyards every day and trade. It's always fun when a kid comes up to ask if we would trade. Sometimes if I see a kid with a theme going and I have something that fits, I'll offer to trade with them. I have seen some of the biggest smiles and widest eyes when I have done that. It's a little gratuitous pixie dust for myself to see those happy faces.

Speaking of themes, that is the easiest way to not get overwhelmed and give you focus is to pick a theme. My DD is Tinkerbelle, DH likes ToyStory, me, I am the difficult one and look for character cats or corporate partner pins. But this helps us know quickly if we want to trade with someone. So, I little gentle guidance from mom and dad can help little ones zero in on what they want to trade for and not get overwhelmed at all the choices.

As far as where we look to trade, see above. We have gotten pretty good at scanning CM lanyards quickly to see if there is anything we want. Our tastes are so varied it is a total crap shoot to find what we want that we don't already have. It does seem to help with CM lanyards to look a couple hours into a shift when they have had time to cycle their inventory and maybe have some interesting pins have been traded from guests. We just use it as an excuse to chat with people. It is a good conversation starter.

you can check your local AAA office for park maps where they have the brochures.

what about your park tickets?

Lol Mickey Mail is a generic term on DIS boards for your confirmation mail from WDW. It comes about 34 days out from your trip, and contains your reservation info, luggage tags, park and resort info. It comes in a large envelope with Mickey on it......Mickey Mail!!!!!

i'm not sure if this has been answered,
but you can get park maps FREE off disneyworld.com and even better yet they are customized maps. :)

We too are in 30 days or so.
Today is 10/12/12 and we leave 11/12/12.

Great idea on the extra battery! thanks

Took a picture today of our contact information with my camera. So if by some chance our camera gets lost and someone honest finds it they can scroll through the pics and find our information.

Also we put our photo pass card in a clear luggage id holder and clip it on our backpack so we don't have to search for it when it gets time for a photo. I am looking forward to the photopass + being on a lanyard --easy to keep up with.

Put all ADR's in Iphone calander with ;

1. Confirmation
2. Time
3. Location
4. One hour reminder.

I am really surprised that the official apps do not have the ability to link to ADR's and a reminder. They have it for events , parades and fireworks , why not aDR?

Also, got all my memory cards wiped clean and tested,
Cleared out Iphone pictures and freed up extra space.

I bought a lot of 25 pins for my kids last trip - for $50. The seller was bizzybee1. We were very happy with the purchase from her. There is a thread that talks about sellers that sell authentic pins and not scrappers.

We did pin trading for the first time last trip and my kids LOVED it! I learned to put the locking backs on the pins I did not want them to trade.

Do you need to order tickets for MVMCP? Do you have a Disney VISA, and if so have you ordered your rewards card?

Have a great trip!

Undercover tourist App has a place to put ADR's. time, confirm #, alerts etc

I use my calendar too just in case. I have heard that my entries in my calendar will change times because of the time zone change

Yup got my rewards card, managed to save 500 by funneling all bills through it!!!

We booked through AAA. We received our Mickey Mail and all of that stuff but don't have park tickets. Will we get those when we check in or should we have gotten them from our agent?

You might save a bit by getting them ahead of time. The budget board is a great place to ask this!
