I'm a night owl.

Going on June 11th but not staying at a Disney property-so can only get FP+ 30 days out, right?

So, does that mean at 12:01am EST on 5/11 I can start reserving? Is it later in the day? Based on current time zone?

I'm too excited to sleep!!!

It is 12:00 Eastern. Because we are Central time, we were able to start at 11:00pm. Have fun!!

I noticed that when booking our FP+ 30 days out that it did NOT open up at 12:01 AM EST. I live in Virginia (EST) and the system did not switch days until 1:01 AM. I even logged out and logged back in, refreshed the site, etc. So be prepared to stay up another hour if that is the case for you.

That only happens when MK is open until 1:00am. That won't be the case for the OP.

What day was this? On days when the MK closes at 1:00am (not counting EMH), it doesn't open until 1:00 am. Mesaboy has a thread about this.

yes its 30 days for those not staying onsite.

may 11th would not be 30 days from june 11th. it would be 31 days since may has 31 days in it.

may 12th at 12am (not 12:01am) would be 30 days.

since disney world is in eastern time zone thats what times are based on.

your clock may have been a minute fast.
also if it didn't open until 1am then you caught a night that MK was open until 1am.
i already checked and the OP's 30 days out MK will have closed at 11pm so thats not a problem for OP.

Just when I thought I understood what I need to do, I see another thread that gives me more questions to ask.

I thought I just needed to make sure I booked FP+ at least 14 days in advance. What is the advantage of booking it earlier?
If you are staying at a Disney property, do you get more leeway?
Are the rules for this the same at DL as at WDW?

That explains it then, I tried booking our FP+ on 4/10 and 4/11. Which were apparently both days that Magic Kingdom closed at 1 am EST.

not sure where you read 14 days?

if you stay onsite at WDW you can book your FP+ selections up to 60 days prior to your trip and can book them for length of stay.

when staying offsite you can only book up to 30 days prior and can only book for one day at a time.

the advantage to booking the FP+ selections as early as possible is that you tend to have more attraction and return time options.

DLR does not have FP+.
they still have legacy FP as far as i know so you just go to the park the day of and get a FP like you always have.

You can book your FP+ 60 days in advance if you're staying on WDW property. If you're staying off property or (unfortunately) Shades of Green like us, it is no more than 30 days from the first park day. The advantage to booking right at the 30 days is the availability of fastpass times. If you were to look at our park days May 10th - 14th, there are absolutely no FP available for 7DMT or Anna and Elsa anymore. You can book anytime between those 30 days and your first park day but availability of the more popular rides will be slim to none.

I would highly recommend reading the first two posts in this thread:

when staying offsite you can only book up to 30 days prior and can only book for one day at a time.

So, I have to book them at 11:00 EST each day? I can't get them all at once, even if I have a ticket reservation (staying at Holiday Inn "on property" but not a Disney hotel).

Yes, for off property, it's one day at a time. But the time is 12:00 EST - it would be 11:00 CST.

12am est (11pm CENTRAL) or 1am est (12am CENTRAL) if MK is open past 12am for regular park hours.

holiday inn is not on property. (disney world does not own that portion of land)

Good luck!! We booked at 60 days out, 11 p.m. CST. Hoping the planning for our Nov trip goes as smoothly!
