We are looking for ideas for DS 3rd birthday which is on our last day. We already have reservation for earlier in the week at CP and H&V. Any ideas for a special birthday lunch before we leave? We are staying at Beach Club. Chef Mickeys is already booked. Any other ideas? Doesnt necessarily have to be a character meal just something fun and special for him. Also, this will be on a Sat in June.

Also, not sure if we will be going to park that day or not so looking for suggestions for both. Thanks.

Chef Mickey is where my mind went. We did it for my DS and it was so much fun!

Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL is fun. You can order a cake to come there. Kid friendly atmopshere and good cake at the end. So that would be my non-park suggestion.

Coral Reef is my park suggestion. Again, you can order a cake and you can even pay for a diver to come with a birthday message.

Happy birthday to your son :cake:

I am getting ready to go to disney and we are celebrating a birtday while there also. We ordered a cake for dinner the one night. Also, if you want to spend the extra money you can order an in room celebration or just a gift basket type thing to be delivered to your room. When we made our dinner reservations for the week, the cast member said she noted the birthday on our reservations (not sure what will come out of that) and also told us when we checked in at the resort that you can get a free birthday pin to wear around the park.

Chef Mickey's would be the best in my opinion. Can you switch you Chef Mickey day to this one?

What is his favorite character? I took a 4yr old with me on a trip. His faves were Pooh, so we booked Crystal Palace. Now normally we dont go to character meals, just too noisy. But we went for him. It was the best time we ever had. We loved just watching his reaction when he found out he was having dinner with Pooh's friends and hugging each one. It was just a wonderful experience. So pick the one with the character that the child likes best.

A late breakfast at 'Ohana with Stitch might be fun or lunch at T-Rex if he likes Dinosaurs:cool1:

His favorite character is OSO and we are doing H&V the day before for breakfast but I kind of feel like we should do something on his birthday too. This will be our check out and travel day too but we are either going to hang out by the pool for the day or maybe do a final trip to one of the parks. Havent decided that yet. We are staying at BC so if we stay around the pools the ideal thing would be to do Cape May but I really wanted to do a lunch instead of breakfast so we could have cake. Also, I think he would rather have Mickey than Minnie but he is not there. I know I am way overthinking this and we hav two other character meals at H&V and CP earlier in the week but wouldnt it be so cool to have your birthday with Mickey and friends on your actual birthday!!!

Sorry when I said Chef Mickeys was already booked I meant they do not have any openings for this day not that we had it booked earlier. That would be great if we could get it and I will keep checking periodically just to be sure.

Definitely keep trying for Chef Mickey's...then he gets to celebrate with ALL 5 of the main characters...Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto! Happy Birthday to your son!

Ok just realized I have been trying to book Chef Mickeys for lunch and they do not have lunch! Dinner will be too late for us as we are heading out that day so looks like it is either another breakfast or go somewhere else. Decisions decisions. Any DTD recommendations for lunch for a birthday? I think he would be scared of TRex. What about Rainforest? Is it worth it? I still think a meal with the Fab 5 would be so much more memorable!!!

Rainforest is fun but not interactive at all....he'd prob enjoy it but if he really wants to meet & greet the characters then I would def do the breakfast at CM...what about bringing him to the Pirates League and let him be a pirate for the day?? That would be a fun experience...then it may not matter where you go and eat pirate:

Who says you can't have cake for breakfast on your birthday!?!?! :cutie:

If you are set on the Fab 5 and are limited for your day I would book a breakfast for sure. Some options would be Cape May, Chef Mickeys breakfast, or Tusker House.

Just make the reservation as late as possible. Tusker House is the only one out of the above 3 that has a lunch as well. You could time a reservation late enough that he will get to see the characters, as they are at breakfast only, but by the time the meal is done it'll be close enough to noon to enjoy a piece of cake.

The only thing is that you will have to go into AK to enjoy this. But you could always first go on the safari in the morning and then head to breakfast. The animals are much more active first thing in the am.

As for DTD, there are no meals with the Fab 5. If you really want to do DTD you could go to either Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex, although I know you mentioned he might be frightened of the dinosaurs. After the lunch you could take him on the balloon ride. My DD has been begging me to do that since she was 22 months.
