Help--

1) I want to be able to post pictures, but can't figure out how. Can somebody please tell me?

2) I need the internet, and know this tip has been rehashed but just went back and could not find any threads. What do I need?

3) We are torn on upgrading our 8 day hopper for our Nov trip to an AP, might do the waterparks instead....are the waterparks worth the cost with two children, one 5.5 (6 in Nov) and 3?

4) Does anybody know how late the parks are open end of August? Does this affect the parade or firework times?

Thanks all, I would like to do my first trip report but love taking pictures so really want to include those. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated.

1 & 2. Use the free internet in the DVC rooms. You'll need a photo hosting service like photobucket or flickr (both have free accts as well as pay). Place photos on host site. Use the "IMG" (stands for image) tags created on the host sights to post photos into forums such as the Dis. The tag will look like this (I used a broken tag so you could see what a tag looks like):

3. If you are a DVC member you get a good deal on the APs. It's up to you if you want to upgrade to them. Remember though, if the cost of your current tickets exceeds the cost of an AP you do not get money back. Also, if you decide to upgrade, be sure to use the tickets you have to enter the park and then upgrade to the AP so the price gets locked in.

As for the waterparks, kids love them. However, the 3 year old might get bored after 3 or 4 hours. If you are staying at a DVC resort the pool areas are fantastic and there isn't much need to go to a waterpark.

4. All parades and fireworks are going off as usual at the end of August. Some of the park hours are cut back a bit compared to mid-summer, but still there are plenty of open hours. Here is a link to a great site about all the entertainment going on:

Also check here for great info:

Thanks for the detailed response, very helpful. 2 questions though....

1) Use the free internet in the room....do I need to bring anything, or do I automatically get internet access in the room? Sorry, I'm a bit of a technology dunce.

2) Does shutterfly work as a hosting site?

Thanks for the great links to park hours and relevant times. very helpful. I already printed that out for the trip.

I'm hopping in for this answer.
I may take a laptop for the first time.
DVC owner, know we get free internet access, but how?
To sound as totally technologically challanges as I am,
1)do I need a code to get on. Do I get the code by showing my DVC card at checkin?
2)do I have to use some cable?

How do I get on?

There will be cables for the internet in a bag in the front hall closet. If you want wireless, you'll have to bring your own router.

I'm not familiar with Shutterfly, so can't answer that one, but I find Photobucket very easy to use. You could also use your own web page as a host if you have one.

Thanks Diane! I really only need to check a few things in the morning and late afternoon, so the cable should work fine.

I do have one final question, anybody recommend a good router to travel with in case we decide we do want wireless? Price? Ease of use?

alot folks seem to like apple's airport - but really any mainstream brand would work (linksys) etc.
