DH needed to have some blood done before seeing his dr. This isn’t for the usual yearly blood work.
So they told him he didn’t have to fast so he gets to the app oh no he was supposed to fast. Rescheduled this time they told him he was to early. Dr wanted this done just days before the app. Ok no one saw this the first. Time
So he goes today they actually was questioning him saying there’s nothing for labs.

Still this shouldn’t be a big surprise me since once I was scheduled at a place the dr wasn’t even at day. I knew where he wanted to see me and argued when they called the night before finally I just gave up and said fine your right I’m wrong so I show up they take in the room to wait for the dr only to be told I had a phone call. It was the office at the right place wondering why I wasn’t there but somehow figured out where I was
How can you schedule when the dr wasn’t even there
Medical stuff scares me

This has happened to me (my whole family) when I won't be seeing the doctor for another 6+ months but they put in the lab orders at the first appointment. The lab orders expire, even though the doctor can see them as active, but the lab won't process orders that were written more than ~6 months ago. Different labs may have different timelines they follow, but 6 months is the one that gets us.

It’s so fustrating when you know your right and the medical people make you feel like your the idiot

Another issue I had was I was checking in for an app when the one at the desk insisted I fill out all these forms which I had done the last time. She was rustling through the papers to show me nothing was filled out
I heppened to glance at the folder she had the right lady name wrong first name
I have a very common ladt name before she went off she should have verified something first name birthday anyhing
That really would have made a big mess if I would have filled out the papers again
Who knew what this other person was there for
She also acted like it was my fault never said a word just grumbled as she got my folder
It really scares a person

Lab orders here are good for a year. The issue I had most recently was I went to do the lab work before the "expected" date, and the lab wouldn't do the lab work. The lab work was from one of my specialists and she is new to the area. She put in the date of my appointment as the expected date. No way I am going to be able to get lab work done before my appointment that way. She has since learned to put in the current date as the expected date so patients can get the lab work done before an appointment.

My daughter is in Germany and needed lab work to get insurance so she could get her student visa. She fasted before hand, not knowing if she needed to or not. They process the blood work immediately in Germany, and she failed. Her lab work came back showing she was malnourished! She looked at the Phlebotomist and pointed out that the fact she needs to lose weight kind of indicated she was getting plenty to eat. Phlebotomist told her, fasting is not the norm for blood work in Germany. They recommend a meal an hour before blood work.
