While cleaning out the garage this weekend, DH found 3 snake skins, all the same size, in various places around our garage. He does not like snakes at all! He had me look at them. He continued to clean and came across snake #1. YELLED at me to come check it out while he kept his eye on it ( from a safe distance, of course;) ) and I could tell it was a young copperhead snake.
I caught it in a bucket and took it off to the pasture behind our house, then DH found #2! let me tell you he freaked! Same size as #1. Now do we assume there is #3 still somewere in our garage? and can we assume they have all been there for awhile? We feel that if #3 shows up or 1 or 2 return, we will dispatch them to snake heaven as a warning to the rest.
I like snakes, had a few green grass and garter snakes as pets as a child. But when we keep coming across these poisonous ones, it makes even me nervous!

oh this gave me the creeps
As I read this I kept saying - eww eww eww
coworker wondered what I was reading

DW makes me destroy the garter snakes I find...
She is afraid of one the girls might get bit...:(
I would be freaking if I found one in the garage/house...

I feel for your poor husband. Snakes absolutely freak me out and terrify me to no end!!!!! There was one in our garden before the DN left for basic training. Well, knowing hime and how he likes to "scare" me, I locked the front door. Sure enough he was going to "show" me the snake. Made him dispose of it and I then made him (while he was outside) take his hat off, pull his shirt up and turn his pockets inside out. Then I let him back in the house.

DH's motto:

The only good snake is a dead snake.

I would set them free on the golf course we live on, but he kills them when he finds them rather than calling for me. Of course, with roaches, he calls for me AFTER he kills them. For some reason, he cannot deal with roaches dead or alive. But he will kill them, just to leave clean up for me.

ewwwww. ewwwww. ewwww!!! Snakes really give me the creeps and I can't stand the thought of them!!!

My cat brought a snake in the house once. We lived out in the country and would just leave the door open on hot days in the summer. One day she comes into the living room carrying a live snake in her mouth. It was black and about a foot long. My mother, who is terrified of snakes jumped up on a chair and started screaming. Sugar, the cat, ran out of the house with the snake. Needless to say, she never brought a snake home again.

reading this thread bothers me. I agree that the only good snake is a dead one. I have thought about moving to Ireland.

Y'all should have stayed at the beach! I don't like snakes, but we do have them out here in the country. I get DH to take care of it. Good thing for your DH that you can take care of them -I could not. Tell him it's a "Pirate" thing to do!! I wonder if it has anything to do with all that rain y'all had?

Hi to DH

Hey, don't they have snakes at the beach Poohstyx? Those deadly coral snakes?.... I guess we are surrounded;)
Doxdogy and SusieJane, I was LOL at your stories...:D

And just think, we have good reason to believe there is one more around!!!!

How scary. I hate snakes and have had a run in with a cooperhead. Best snake is a dead snake! Kill the suckers!
