Great report!
We are also going on the eastern cruise. We are renting a car at Budget and going directly to MGM Studios and we want to get there ASAP. Did you have breakfast the last morning? What time did you leave the ship?

only1t,

No, I didn't do breakfast that last morning. I had planned to, but when I headed out the door with my carryons over my shoulder and got down to the atruim and saw the folks walking off the ship, I decided to just join the throng and forget about breakfast. I was off the ship between 7:30 and 8:00.

Have a great time on your Eastern voyage - you'll love it!

That Budget rental car thing works pretty well. I'm doing the same thing in Nov for a 3-nt Wonder cruise. I'll pick up Budget at the airport, use it to visit WDW and drive to Port Canaveral, turn it in and pick up another rental for the trip back after the cruise. The only time it might not work is if you're dropping off or picking up at Port Canaveral on a holiday. I ran into that problem on the 4th of July (the Port Canaveral office was going to be closed on the 4th), but I knew in advance so I just rented for the whole period and left the rental in the port parking lot till I got back from the cruise.

Wow what a quick reply. Thanks.
My family, my bother's family, my parents and some friends will all be going on the Oct. 15 the cruise. We are all very excited!

only1t,

Sounds like a fantastic family vacation! The only drawback to that Eastern itinerary for me was the early-morning immigration call for St. Thomas. If you are normally early-risers it won’t be an issue for you, but I am NOT a morning person  and the earlier I have to get up the less coherent I am. It went very smoothly, though, and they had pastries, coffee and juice available right outside the Walt Disney Theater (where the immigration processing is done) that you could take into the theater with you while you waited.

Attire was “I don’t wanta get off the ship” casual and the floor show was me kicking and screaming.

Love it! Thank you for sharing your cruise with us. I enjoyed reading it.

Bill, really enjoyed your report and loved reading one from a solo traveler. Sometime in October/November my travel pal and I will be booking our first ever Disney cruise. Now, if for some reason she has to bail, I'm not so hesitant about booking one on my own. Of course, I've know for a couple of years now that there is always the DIS crowd :grouphug: to make anyone feel like they are 'part of the family'.
