I'd be too busy having fun to worry about decorating my room. :)

Same here. I celebrated my birthday at WDW once and never thought to decorate my room. Then again I was solo and didn't want to bring attention to myself in my room alone.

I would stay at one resort for the entire time and do a little decorating. That WDW resort would be my treat.

Once I got past the age of 6 or 7, birthday decorations didn't seem like that big a deal. I don't see the need to decorate for an adult's birthday-especially if you're doing it for yourself. :confused3

Now sharing a cake with my family, that's what I'd want. Save the money on the decorations, they're only going to get thrown away.

Especially the stuff with what year you're celebrating.

I could understand putting up some decorations for a child but aren't most adults past the balloon and streamer phase :confused3 ?

I can't imagine going through the trouble of decorating my own room. If it was my birthday and family or friends did it as a surprise for me, fun! But to do it for myself seems...well, just weird.

If you want to do something for yourself, instead of "decorations" maybe order a nice bouquet of flowers from the WDW florist to arrive your first day. Then just move them with you from resort to resort. They usually either come in a "Mickey" vase or have some sort of Disney themed accents that could be saved and taken home as momentos.

I would never decorate for my own birthday, especially at my age!

Just enjoy yourself and skip the decorating, it is so much easier then stressing over details like that.

I think the rooms come already decorated.

Go to a lounge and order a specialty drink, tell the bartender it is your birthday, and to make the drink "pretty"

:drinking1

Too bad you aren't staying at the Poly. Their Pina Coladas are awesome ;)

MTE. I roll my eyes thinking about decorating my resort room in general, let alone decorating it for my birthday. I'm in WDW, there is Mousekeeping, I'm on vacation, that's more than enough for me!

Let alone do it 3 time during my stay. :confused3 Waaaaaaaaay over the top to me.

What would I do?

Decorate none. I don't decorate at home for my birthday - or my DH's or frankly for my kids either for that matter, so I'm certainly not hauling decorations on vacation.

Hi there!

I'm so glad you're decorating your room for your 50th Birthday. Way to go!!!

We decorate our room no matter what. Birthday/Halloween/Christmas.
Whatever the closest holiday is. It just would not be a Disney World trip without the decorations. We love to put lights on the bed headboard and lie in bed at the end of the day with the them on. (No we'll never grow up and we're both near 40).

I'd suggest making a few decorations before you leave like posters etc. That way you could quickly roll and unroll/unpack the decorations when you get there.

Definetly go for the most decorations at the last place you stay in as I understand this is when your birthday is.

Its just so cool to come back to the room or wake up in the morning and see the decorations.

How about getting some flowers from the Disney Florist? That would add some real zip and festivity to the room.

Have fun and please post pics when you get back!!!!
