as of now we're starting off at Riverside 3nights followed by VWL 6nights
Im trying to get either BCV or BWV for those last 6nights - If you could only get either for only 3nights would you split to 3resorts?

I see you are travelling with your son? How old is he? If he is young, I wouldn't stay at three different resorts in 9 nights. Kids can have a hard time acclimating to a new environment.

Personally, I think switching resorts three times in nine nights is a lot. I've split stays between two resorts twice, and didn't mind, but I think to pack, move, be without a room for part of two days would bother me.

Just my opinion.

I think 3 moves is a lot. We did it at DL. I liked the hotels but it seemed like we were always packing and moving. I did it because I had free hotel rooms and it still was a bother.

I SO want to do this and around the same late August time period as you! I keep wondering if I can pack in such a way as to minimize the amount of packing and repacking we do. There are 5 of us but the appeal is that I really enjoy proximity to the different parks. We're thinking of a BWI, AKL and MK resort split (not sure what order). It remains to be seen whether I'll be brave enough to actually do it!

I split stayed between 4 resorts for a 12 day trip and I had a 3 yr old and 10 month old twins. We stayed 2 nts OKW, 2 nts VWL, 4 nts Poly LVC and 4 nts AKL concierge. It was awesome. We had a rental car which may have made it easier. But it was like 4 mini vacations.

I think it is too much. Just as you get used to one bed, then you have to move again. The packing and checking in will take up some of your vacation time.

I have done a 3 way split for 5 nights,
1st night AKL
2nd night Poly
3rd and 4th night BWI

The same as you it was me and my son then 17, I didn't mind it at all, it wasn't like I had a little one with me, would I do it again, I sure would

Hi,

I just did three resorts in ten nights back in October. Three days at French Quarter, then three at Wilderness Lodge then three at Riverside. I was on my own so packing wasn't a problem at all and I would do it again for sure.

One thing I learned that I would do again if splitting my stay a lot; I had originally planned to head out to a park early and arrange for Bell Services to transfer my luggage. Well, the first morning I woke up fairly early and thought what the heck, I am going to take a taxi right over to Wilderness Lodge with my bags and check in early so I don't have to worry about it later. I thought the taxi mght be about $20.00. Well WOW! It was only about $11.00 with a good tip! A half hour after I left POFQ I was checked in, I had my pick of rooms since it was so early, I was unpacked and on my way to a park all settled into my new home and I didn't have to worry about waiting for luggage, checking in etc. later in the day! Best $11.00 I spent in a while. I did the same thing when moving to Riverside and again it was a very quick and quiet check in with my pick of locations.

I like staying at more than one place... mostly because I don't have to make decisions about which resort I want... I just stay at them all!

We have done the split stay, and have decided unanimously ....Never Again!
We felt that there was simply not enough time to enjoy each resorts activities....And we were staying longer in each resort than you plan to.

Some people love the split stay....They feel like they are getting two vacations in one. It is a personal choice, but we will never make the choice to do a split stay ever again.

Happy Planning! :D

Im glad you brought this up about split stays. We were planning on staying at POR but the sweetpea has her heart set on AKL, so it looks like we might have to split out stay. I was wondering how hard it is to pack and move from one resort to another and how those of you who have done it felt about it. Good idea or no?

We like to resort hop too, and I think 3 nights at each would be fine. It gives you a chance to check out the resorts before moving on.

We tend to go for 4-5 day visits and we like to stay at somewhere new the first night and just enjoy the resort. Then we pack up and load up the car, go to the park and around 3:00 head to our new resort to check in and have an afternoon break. Then go out again in the evening to another park.

We want to 'check out' all the resort eventually. I still have a few more trips to make before we finish.

P.S. Once we have stayed at each resort, we will probably just book one at a time. Right now, trying out new resorts is part of the fun of our trip!

We are splitting a 12 night stay between 3 resorts this May. We will be staying 5 nights at BWV, 2 nights at All Star Movies and 5 nights at WL. We will pack a small family suitcase for the 2 nights at ASMo so that I don't have to unload all the suitcases for such a short stay. We love hopping because we get to experience the variety in the resorts. We also like staying at a resort near Epcot and MGM and then one near MK. We plan our park days around the location of our resort. The kids enjoy the pools and resorts as much as the parks themselves.

Four resorts in nine days!! I did it with my children (then 7 and 4). I wanted to try Hard Rock Hotel for 2 nights, then moved to Royal Pacific for 2 nights, then after Universal we went to WDW and stayed at CBR for 4 nights, then after having problems with CBR, we decided to move out of CBR and went to CSR, which saved our WDW trip.

We did it, you can do it to. As long as you're not in a hurry and take your time and money to take the cab from one resort to another. No problem.
