3 Refillable Mug Questions...

Sorry for the strange questions but I am a complete refillable mug virgin..

Can you tell me whether you can use a straw to drink from them easily (youngest DD loves to drink with a straw!) and are there straws available at the food courts?

Also is there any way of attaching a lanyard to the mug in order to wear it?

Are they insulated and if so will they keep a drink cold for a while in the August heat?

1. Yes, I'm sure you could fit a straw down the drink hole of the lid.
2. Not sure about the lanyard, you could probably thread it through the handle and wear it that way.
3. I don't think they are insulated at all, unless they have changed them other then the designs.

Yes you can fit in a straw and they have them at the food courts, I use a straw every time I go.
Not sure I would want to carry arond my mug all day in the heat, with sticky sweet soda or somethng dripping attracting bees and other bugs, I hate to carry anything around if I don't have to espeically at WDW and in the heat.
they really are not insulated they have a double layer to them to prevent the outside from getting hot or cold depending on your beverage, but the ice will melt quickly.

A straw would fit. I use them too!

I would say no, just because the mug is so think that the lanyard would not fit around it.


They are insulated, so it will keep your drinks cool for a while.

Not only does the straw fit, at the food court registers they sell Mickey Mouse Straws for about 50 cents. I buy one of those every year to use with the refillable mug.

You could hook a lanyard up to the handle, I'm not sure how well it would stay.

They're basically like most car coffee mugs, they'll keep a drink cold for a fair amount of time.

i put a straw in mine all the time and i hang mine on my waist belt an they do keep things cold or hot..vey well.

Just a heads up. AKL does not have straws. I think they are the only resort that does not offer straws b/c of the animals. Also, you won't find any disposable straws or lids in AK. Again, b/c of the animals.
