3 pairs of Minnie ears and Stalking Thumper~My first TR 5/6-5/11 *UPDATE 6/13, pg 14*

Day 4! Our Disneymoon is almost over! :sad1:

We decided to spend the whole day at Epcot and then go to extra magic hours at MK at night. This was our third time at Epcot this trip and I still felt like we didn't do enough so I wanted to spend a significant amount of time there.

I was up and ready to go by 8:15...DH of course, was another story. I have to wake him up at least 5 times before he gets out of bed. I thought he was going to just hop in the shower and we would go...I wanted to get to Epcot by 9, because I wanted Soarin FP's! But he took his time, and then had to have breakfast, which I rushed him through...I didn't bother with breakfast because I was going to have a croissant in France when WS opened!

We eventually made it to Epcot, not at 9, but pretty close, and walked over to Soarin to get my FP's!

IMG_0989.jpg

World showcase was empty (well obviously, it wasn't open yet!) so it was a good time for pictures

IMG_0992.jpg

IMG_0997.jpg

We got our Soarin FP's and our return time was pretty quick, so we just wandered around for a little while before riding Soarin. We got the front row this time, which I was sooooo happy about, because I was whining the first time we rode it about being in the 3rd row!

After Soarin, we went to Mission Space for the first time this trip! Surprising because Mission Space is a must do for me, and I usually like to go on it multiple times, but having to squeeze everything in to 4 and a half days is hard! We did the more intense side, of course, and after, Brandon of course, says what he always does, that he felt like he was going to throw up, and if the ride lasted any longer, he would have! :rotfl:

When you leave Mission Space, they're playing this epic sounding music, like you just accomplished something huge, so Brandon started doing all these ridiculous things, so I told him to run up ahead of me so I can take a picture that captures the epicness of the moment...I think this sums it up pretty well...

IMG_1001.jpg

:rotfl:

After Mission Space, we went to the front of Epcot to see if there were any characters out and we saw the adorable Lion King topiaries

IMG_1002.jpg

And then, at the front entrance to Epcot, which we haven't seen once this trip since we were always coming in through the International Gateway, we saw all the topiaries in front of Spaceship Earth!

IMG_1004.jpg

They were really cute, and there were a lot of people coming in, so we decided to start walking back, and I noticed something on the right side of Spaceship Earth I hadn't seen before...giraffe topiaries! :lovestruc

I cannot explain to you how much I love giraffes...but I do, so I had to have Brandon take my picture with them! Only, lots of other people had the same idea, so I had to wait...and I didn't want to just jump in, since there was no formal line, so people would walk by, see them, and go take a picture...finally I had to assert myself and just walk up when someone was done, or I would have been waiting all day!

IMG_1008.jpg

Not the best picture, but whatever, good enough! Let's go! :lmao:

By that time I was getting hungry since I skipped breakfast and it as almost time for World showcase to open...so I was ready to start walking over there, but we had to stop by Tinkerbell's Fairy garden first...

Up next...how I almost skipped Tink's garden all together because of my ridiculous phobia! :rotfl:

Hey great start to your day! Your DH sounds like my DBF getting up as well. I have to wake him up multiple times! LOL! Glad you got to Epcot not too late though! And yay for being in the first row for Soarin'! Great pics of an empty World Showcase! Yay for giraffe topiaries...they were so cute weren't they?? Do you have a phobia of butterflies?? something else?? Can't wait!

Day 4 continued, still at Epcot!

So we were getting ready to go towards World Showcase so I could finally eat something, but I wanted to stop by Tinkerbell's Fairy Garden first. I remembered seeing pictures of this from people who went to the F&G festival early, and I couldn't miss it!

We got there...and I found out you had to enter through the butterfly house.

:scared1:

Yes. I'm afraid of butterflies. I know it's weird. But I am. :confused3

It's not that I don't like butterflies, I do, I would just like to admire them from afar instead of having one fluttering around my face. So I said forget it, and started walking away! But Brandon just went right in and was telling me to just go in...I was trying to convince myself, I really wanted to see Tink's garden (and yes, I could have walked around to the exit and went in that way, but I wanted to TRY to overcome my fear!)...so I took a deep breath and walked in...and a butterfly flies RIGHT at my face! :scared1: I screamed and ran out of there...everyone was looking at me and I heard Brandon say "yeah she's the only person in the world afraid of butterflies" :rotfl2:

I don't care, he can make fun of me all he wants, it's a legitimate phobia! I was really proud of myself for setting foot in that house...I mean, if a butterfly comes at me outside, anywhere...I scream, duck, and run...so it was a big deal for me to be in an enclosed area with these things! :lmao: Even if it was for maybe 10 seconds!

However, I was finally in Tink's Garden, and it was soooo beautiful! My favorite part of the Flower and Garden festival, they did such a good job with this!

They had these cute little fairy/bird houses everywhere

IMG_1011.jpg

IMG_1010.jpg

(I love the shadow of my Minnie ears in that one!)

Fairies (the only one I know is Tink!)

IMG_1012.jpg

IMG_1019.jpg

This one was absolutely beautiful, with all the flowers around her

IMG_1021.jpg

And finally, Tink!

IMG_1016.jpg

Brandon pretending to eat bamboo (I'm not sure why, he thought it was funny )

IMG_1020.jpg

We finally were finished with Tink's garden and ready to go to WS, so we went towards France, where I was so excited to get a croissant! But on our walk over, the air smelled like fish and chips...it smelled SOOOOOO good, that I changed my mind, I no longer wanted a croissant, I wanted fish and chips from England! Brandon of course was already hungry, so he wanted some too...but because it was still so early, the little fish and chip shop right outside of Rose and Crown was still closed. :upsidedow

So instead, we went towards France anyway and decided to see Impressions de France for the first time! I'm sure I've seen it as a kid, but I didn't remember it, and Brandon has never seen it, so we walked over there...passing Marie on the way! I wanted to get another picture with Marie, because I got one in November, and she was just so cute, but the line for her was really long! I was getting hot and kind of cranky, so we just went into France and watched the movie.

The movie was good, although a little outdated! Not something I need to do every time I visit Disney, but it was nice!

After the movie, we went back to England to get fish and chips, and the line was pretty long, and they have like, 5 tables to sit at, so of course, they were full. So we went down by the water and sat on a bench and ate, which was very nice and peaceful! The fish and chips were amazing, so good! I didn't take any pictures because I was starving, but trust me, they were fantastic! I will definitely be going there again!

By that time, we were ready for a break, so we went back to the Beach Club for a little while. I knew we were coming back to Epcot later, because I was ready to drink, and we had another Le Cellier ADR (it's Brandon's favorite), and there were MK magic hours that night that I wanted to go to, so I had to rest or it just wouldn't happen!

Up next...did we ever make it to MK? :confused3

Hello!!!

I'm determined to finish Day 4 today! Just had a loooong day at work so I need to de-stress a little, which is why I love this TR so much! I'm going to miss it when I'm finished writing it! :sad1: Then again, there is always the PTR I'll be starting once this is over...in a way, I think PTR's are more fun than TR's!

When I left off, we were heading back to BC to rest up a little before returning to Epcot. When we got to our room, I found this waiting for us

IMG_1159.jpg

A bounceback!!!!! My very first bounceback offer!!! I was so excited...Brandon, of course, didn't really know what it was, but I explained it to him...then asked if he could book our next trip with it! He said fine, but then he wasn't spending anymore money for the rest of the time we were there...and I wasn't sure of the dates I wanted to go yet, so I said forget it. But still, I can't believe he actually agreed to book a trip while we were still in Disney! Never thought I'd see the day!

We went back to Epcot around 5ish, because I wanted to walk around and get a few drinks before our Le Cellier ADR. My first drink of the night was the fantastic Grand Mariner slushie from France...in November I had the Grey Goose slush which was great, so this time I thought I'd try something different. Brandon got some weird drink, I wish I took a picture of it...it was some vodka thing I can't remember the name of, but it was pink and it came in a champagne glass! I thought he would tell me "I'm not drinking this" and give it to me because it was too girly looking, but he didn't care!

We walked slowly through WS, and stopped in the America section to take a picture with the Mickey and Minnie topiaries (and when I saw we, I mean my slushie and I!)

IMG_1023.jpg

Brandon finished his girly drink pretty quickly, and he wanted a beer so we went to Germany, since I could get a pretzel there. We sat by the fountain for a little while, where there were ducks in the fountain...and Brandon tried to feed them

IMG_1028.jpg

:rotfl:

We then began to walk towards the Mexico area, because we wanted to get margaritas again, and I saw Snow White near her wishing well! I love Snow White and I was in line to meet her last year, but we ended up leaving because we were going to the Christmas party the next night at MK, and I thought I'd see her there. But I never did, and I never got my picture with her, and I wanted to meet her this time, but the line for her was so long, so I passed again! I settled for taking pictures of her topiaries instead

IMG_1031.jpg

IMG_1032.jpg

We continued our walk through WS and went by China and noticed it was almost time for the acrobats, and Brandon wanted to see them, so we went in and sat down. He sat up front, and I sat in the shade towards the back...it was hot! :lmao: The place filled up pretty quickly and the acrobats came out...they were cute...but it was basically girls spinning lots of hoops around like hula hoops and then people balancing giant boxes on their toes...Brandon thought it was going to be, you know, acrobatics, like flipping around and fighting and stuff! :confused3

We made it to Mexico decided to go on the Gran Fiesta Tour before getting our margaritas. I think this is so cute, I don't know why people don't like it! It's not thrilling or anything, but it's cute and peaceful...and it was one of the first things we did last November right after we got engaged, so to me, it's romantic! :lovestruc

When the ride was over, we went to the Tequila Bar and got our drinks...Brandon also got a shot of tequila while we were waiting for our margaritas. :sad2: We went to sit by the fountain to drink our margaritas and there was a cart with tambourines, and everyone who would walk by would play them...and eventually Brandon decided he wanted to join in!

IMG_1037.jpg

:rotfl2: Yeah, I have about 10 pictures like that...he was having way too much fun with the tambourines! :cool1:

I didn't really want to leave Mexico, it's so pretty

IMG_1042.jpg

but it was getting late, and I insisted we do Spaceship Earth before Le Cellier!

Luckily, there was no wait for Spaceship Earth, but it was hot in there! :snooty: I thought it would be this nice, relaxing ride, away from the heat for a little while...it was like an oven! If they have AC in there, it wasn't working!

We ran out of SE right after it was over, and went towards Canada, where we saw more Disney bunnies

IMG_1054.jpg

We checked in to Le Cellier, where a lot of people were waiting for their tables, and got seated after about 2 minutes. I told myself this time I wasn't getting the cheddar cheese soup, but I couldn't resist...I also wanted a chocolate martini, but I figured, I was already a little tipsy from the slushie and margarita, I should pace myself...Brandon, however, had other ideas. He ordered a glass of wine at the beginning of dinner, and then another half way through.

I told him maybe he should calm down, after all, there were magic hours at MK I wanted to go to, and they were until 1am, so he needed to be able to stay awake...he insisted he was fine. We finished our dinner (we both had the mushroom filet, which was unbelievable, btw!), skipped dessert because we were soooo stuffed, and left.

Gonna continue in the next post, because I'm pretty sure there is a limit to how many pictures you can have in one post, right? And I have a few more to put up...

The end of Day 4, continued!

When we were leaving, Illuminations was getting ready to start, so we stopped to watch for a while...I love Illuminations, but the music was so loud, so we just started walking and figured we could just walk slowly once it started.

I kept trying to get a pictures of those giant torches they light, but I can't get a good one, no matter what setting I use!

IMG_1069.jpg

That's the best I could do, and it's not so good!

England looked so pretty at night

IMG_1066.jpg

IMG_1068.jpg

Once Illuminations started, we walked back to BC. Brandon seemed fine, a little silly, but certainly not drunk, so I thought we could sit on the beach for a little while, go get the car, and go to MK for magic hours.

We found a nice swing on the beach and sat there, which was really nice. I was hoping to just hang out on the beach since we arrived at BC, but we were always in such a hurry, we never had time to!

They were showing a movie a little farther down the beach

IMG_1075.jpg

Boardwalk across the water

IMG_1077.jpg

This was when Brandon started complaining he didn't feel good...I don't remember what he was using as an excuse and not coming out and saying he was too drunk, but he was. I couldn't believe it...he's not a big drinker, but he has a higher tolerance than I do and can usually have a few and not feel anything. :confused3 So I said, ok, well, let's go up to our room for a little while and you can lay down and then we will go.

So we started walking back to the room, and I just had to get a picture of BC at night first

IMG_1082.jpg

and then we continued up to our room.

The minute we got in, Brandon just laid down on the floor and started whining about how he couldn't move...I thought he was just being dramatic. So I left him alone for a little while, and after a few minutes, I heard him snoring...are you kidding me? :scared1: It's maybe 10:00, if that...so I get a little mad and wake him up and tell him lets go...he tries to get up and just lays back down on the floor. By this time, I knew MK wasn't happening, so I was mad.

After a little while, he got up and said let's go, but by that time, I was just too annoyed. I just got in bed and said forget it, just go to sleep. He tried to insist we go, because he knew how much I wanted to, and how the next day was our last day in Disney, but I just couldn't be bothered by then. So he gets in bed and goes to sleep.

Grrrrrrr.:mad::mad: I was SO mad. I know we were just at MK the night before, but I love magic hours, and I was only in WDW for 5 days, I had to cram in as much as possible! I couldn't believe I was just stuck in the hotel room while he slept! I considered just hopping on a bus and going alone...but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

So then I came up with a plan...we were originally going to skip Animal Kingdom this trip, it's our least favorite park, the only reason I wanted to go was to find Thumper! I knew AK had early magic hours the next day...so I woke Brandon up and told him since he ruined my night, we were getting up early to go to AK and stalk Thumper! He agreed, but I don't think he knew what I was saying! :confused3 :rotfl2:

So that's the end of my Day 4...the day that started out so great, with so much promise and fun to be had, only to end up to be obnoxious and aggravating! :rotfl: I had to make up for it on our last day...is it possible to squeeze 3 parks in to one day? :confused3

Up next...Day 5, stalking Thumper! AK fun!!! :thumbsup2

OMG. My sister is TERRIFIED of butterflies! It's so funny because she's not afraid of anything...except butterflies. But at least you're not alone in your fear. :rotfl:

I love all of your Epcot pictures. I could spend days in WS.

And the Beach Club looks really pretty at night.

Lol, that's good to know! I've come across a few people that are afraid of butterflies...but tell most people that and they look at you like you're insane! :rotfl:

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: Day 5, the last day of our Disneymoon, 5/10

I'm probably going to do really short updates for the last day. I'm so sad that I have to write about our last day already, and that my trip report will soon be over! :sad1:

Well, I had a lot planned for our last day in Disney World. I was planning on having us visit 3 parks today, pack, and squeeze in dinner at Cape May Cafe! I knew it was going to be an exhausting day, but I didn't care, I was determined to get in as much Disney as possible!

I woke up early, as usual, and got ready while Brandon slept. I wanted to get to AK by 8, 8:30 at the latest, to get there for early magic hours so I had to wake him once I was ready to go. It took a few tries, but eventually I dragged him out of bed, and we hopped in the car and started our way towards Animal Kingdom.

We got a quick breakfast at the McDonald's by the All Star resorts (we went there almost every morning during our 08 trip when we stayed in ASMu!) and then made it over to AK! We parked quickly and got on the tram, even though we parked pretty close to the entrance and could have walked...the tram was right there, so why not? :confused3

Like I said earlier, there were only 2 things I wanted to do at AK, ride Expedition Everest a few times and find Thumper! I had no idea where to look for Thumper, I knew he was in a character greeting area, but I wasn't sure where, so we decided to go to EE first.

There was only a 5 minute wait so we ran in to get in line! I love the line for EE

IMG_1084.jpg

I love how when you are waiting, it actually keeps you entertained! :thumbsup2

We decided since the wait was so short, we would ask to sit in the front. We only had to wait a few more minutes and then we boarded the train! We have sat in the front before and I loved the view you get when you get to the top and it appears that there is no track left, and you are stopped for a minute...you can see soooo far out and have a great view of WDW! I wanted to have my camera ready so I could take a picture, but I was afraid I would drop it, so I didn't. Next time, I will remember to bring my wrist strap! :rotfl2:

After it was over, we rode again...and then a third time! After the third time, the line was getting a little long so we decided to get FP's just in case we wanted to come back and ride it once more!

We walked through the park, on the search for Thumper, and stopped in front of the tree to get our picture taken

IMG_1093.jpg

(ugh, not my favorite, but it will have to do!)

and then I remembered...Camp Minnie Mickey! That's where the characters are...right? :confused3

We decided to walk over there, and if I was wrong, we would have to ask a CM where Thumper was because I was not leaving without meeting this bunny...or was I? I'll have to save that part for my next update! :cool1:

Subbing! Congrats on your wedding! I LOVE the pics you got of the castle & that LadY & the Tramp plate was ADORABLE!!!

Can't wait!

Hey, I don't know how I missed this!!! :guilty:

Waking my DH up at Disney is difficult...we're usually out as late as the parks will let us be the night before then I make us get up and go to a park early...I have no problem jumping right out of bed, even if I am tired, but he's another story! I have to start the wake up process 20 minutes before I actually want him to get up!

As you can probably tell from my update...yes...I'm terrified of butterflies. They're pretty, but they freak me out...I hate how unpredictable they are, fluttering around the way they do! :rotfl2: I know it's strange, I should just lock myself in a room with 10 of them til I'm over it! :rotfl:

Subbing! Congrats on your wedding! I LOVE the pics you got of the castle & that LadY & the Tramp plate was ADORABLE!!!

:welcome: Thanks! I loved that Lady and the Tramp plate...it's actually a stamp, my plate had one too, but it was of the castle and it said celebrate or something...it was nice, but not as cute as the Lady and the Tramp one! It's a good thing those aren't real prints on those plates or I would have found a way to come home with a set of them! :rotfl:

Hahahaha, I would do the same thing!!!!:lmao: Which is probably why they don't have them! They would not have them for long!

All caught up!

What a fantastic upgrade!!!! So very, very special. Did you spend much time in the club lounge??

I'd like to see a few wedding pictures if you wouldn't mind sharing!

I love TOT, too. One of my favs. (Along with the HM; I like riding that one at night. Makes the outside a little creepier.)

We love CP for breakfast. Have you tried Tusker House? It knocked CP out of my number one spot. Best breakfast, ever. We had a pre-park opening breakfast there, so we got to be the first people on the safari, too. It was a great experience with wonderful food.

I have the same issue with heat and migraines, which is funny since we're in Texas and the heat/humidity is worse here than in Orlando. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older, unfortunately. Definitely stinks!! I'm hoping it won't be as hot as it is in the summer when we go in October.

We've never eaten at Tony's or Le Cellier. I'm so picky about Italian food since my dad's side of the fam is Italian, so I've been iffy about giving it a shot. It looks so cute, though.

Love the garden festival shots. So pretty! I was never interested in going to that, but your pictures have made me consider it for a future trip.

Loving your TR - your Wishes pics are awesome!
just need to know if you found thumper now :o)

:welcome: Glad you found your way over here!

Club level was awesome, we did spend a lot of time in the lounge, we were always stopping by for a quick snack or a drink. Sometimes it would get pretty crowded so we would take things back to our rooms. The only time I didn't go in there a lot was at night, when they had desserts and cordials, the one time I really wanted to go! :rotfl: We were almost always in the parks between 8 and 10 and if we weren't, we were too full to eat more dessert!

I love ToT and HM at night...when we went on ToT during the day this time, it seemed weird, because we were so used to going on it at night, I don't know why but DHS seems like more of a nighttime park to me, being there during the day is strange! :confused3

I've never been to Tusker House, but now I'm considering it! I've been hearing such great things about it, I might have to check into an ADR there! I did my ADR's for my November trip almost 2 weeks ago and already I feel like I have to change a lot of them (which I'll get into more when I start my PTR for that trip!)...it's gonna be a long 5 and a half months of planning! :rotfl2:

I can't stand my issues with migraines and the heat...it always seems to happen the first night we arrive in Florida. I don't know how you can deal with it, living in Texas! Although I live in CT and the summers can get horribly hot here, and I always end up getting migraines from the heat...sometimes if I'm lucky I'll pop and Excedrin Migraine and it will go away, but other times, there is nothing I can do except lay there in the dark and pray it goes away!

Tony's is good...I'm a little weird about it now, because we both got sick after we ate there...I don't know if it was just a coincidence or if it was actually because of what we ate, but I'll probably skip Tony's for a few future trips! Le Cellier, on the other hand, is amazing!!! :dance3: I think you said in your PTR that you're not doing ADR's? If you change your mind, definitely try Le Cellier if you can get in!

The F&G festival was fun...trust me, I've never considered it either, it just happened to work out that way since we got married in May. I'm more of a fall and winter girl when it comes to visiting WDW...after this trip, we both said there's no way we are ever coming back in May! :rotfl: We had a great time, but between the crowds and the heat, I'll stick with November, or even October!

Wedding pics...I can try to find some decent ones! :rotfl: I had a very small wedding, and we didn't even have a professional photographer, we just had our friends who are good at taking pictures and have a really great camera take pics for us, and we haven't gotten the pics they took yet. I had another friend take pics with my camera at the ceremony, then of course, my memory card filled up so I don't have too many yet...but I will go through them and see if I can find a few good ones, and I will put them on my PTR when I start it! :)

Loving your TR - your Wishes pics are awesome!
just need to know if you found thumper now :o)

:welcome:

Thank you! You're getting married at WDW this year? Congrats! I wanted at Disney wedding SOOOOO bad, but my DH said no! :rotfl: He knew there was no way we could convince our families to come down to FL for that, so we compromised with a Disneymoon instead...and I told him we were renewing our vows in 5 years at the GF wedding pavilion! :cool1:

Going to do a quick update now, so you can find out about Thumper! :)

Day 5, continuted!

This is going to be a short update, just going to finish up Animal Kingdom!

When we left off, we were looking for Camp Minnie Mickey. I have never been to that area of the park, I really didn't even know what it was, I just assumed by the name it was an area for kids!

I stopped on a bridge on the way to take this picture

IMG_1094.jpg

I love how it looks so real! Love EE!! :lovestruc

We walked into CMM and saw this

IMG_1095.jpg

Soooo cute! I had no idea CMM was so adorable! We kept walking, and off to our left, we saw Pocahontas...with no one visiting her! :( She was just standing there with a CM, just waiting for someone to come see her...we both felt so bad for her, Brandon was like "alright, I'm going to see her, come take a picture of me with her" but he wanted to take his back pack off first. So we walked over to the side and he was getting himself all set to meet Pocahontas, and we turned around, and there were a few people waiting to meet her! Good! DH decided since she had people and kids to talk to now, he was just going to skip meeting her so we kept walking in search of the bunnies!

You have to cross a little bridge to get over to the character section and we spotted this

IMG_1096.jpg

and this

IMG_1097.jpg

And then finally...I spotted Thumper and Miss Bunny!!!!! :dance3: :lovestruc

I could barely contain myself...they were sooooo adorable, I was almost running over there when I saw them! And there was no one waiting for them! They had music playing and there was a little girl playing with them, and Miss Bunny was dancing with her, but that was it! So we walked over, and the CM told us we could go right up and see the bunnies and then she started making a big deal over our just married pins and told the bunnies we were on our honeymoon! :lovestruc They were so cute, they wanted to see my rings, and then Miss Bunny pointed to them, and then pointed to Thumper and then herself and acted like she was upset that she didn't have a ring yet...it was so cute!

Then the CM had the bunnies get down in front of us, and made us kiss, and had the bunnies kiss for a picture...and we got these fantastic pictures

By that time, there were more people waiting to see the bunnies and everyone was oooohing and ahhhing and saying how cute our pictures were going to be, it was so much fun! :rotfl:

After, we took one more picture with the bunnies

and said goodbye to them!

Those pics are my favorite from the whole trip (although I'm not a big fan of the last picture!), and it was my favorite character greeting experience yet! It was definitely worth getting up early for, and searching for them, I'm so glad we didn't skip AK like we originally had planned! And Camp Minnie Mickey is such a nice area, it's a shame they don't do something more with it...put in a few rides or something, it could be such a fun little area if they would do more with it! :)

After we were finished with the bunnies, we were ready to leave AK and hit our second park of the day...Magic Kingdom for the last time! :sad1: We still had a few attractions that we didn't get to do yet that had to be done!

Up next...MK, of course! :cool1:

Awww. Those pictures with the bunnies are so sweet. Frame them and hang them all over your house.

I've never really taken the opportunity to explore Camp Minnie Mickey. We only ever go back there to see the Festival of the Lion King. I think this year I want to take some time to look around, though. And I really want a picture with Minnie in her Safari gear.
