Another thread of mine has me wondering....

We plan on three nights at VB this June and hopefully three nights at HH in July.

Will this be enough time to enjoy them?

I think we'll drive most of the way down the day before and stay somewhere so we can make the most of our first day there. So really we're looking at two and a half days at each resort.

Thoughts?

I think you're good. We spent 4 nights at HH this summer, and I don't think we would often do more then that.

We spent 6 days at HH last June, and really enjoyed it! I also have 6 days booked in March. We felt like 6-7 days were the right amount of time for us (long enough to really relax)! We have also stayed 4 nights at Vero, and enjoyed that! We are hoping to spend 4 nights there again this July or August before going to Universal for 2 nights and then VWL 4 nights!

Can't speak for HH (haven't been there yet), but 3 nights was plenty for VB. Unless you are really into swimming and laying on the beach, you'll be ready to leave on that last day - even the kids were ready for something else. We started three of our trips at VB (for 2 or 3 nights) and then went to WDW for 5 or 6 nights. Great combo!

On the last trip (early December 2003), the weather did not cooperate (cold and rain), and I was very, very glad it was an all adult trip. IMHO, you really need good weather to enjoy VB - we spent most of the time that trip in town shopping. Don't think kids would have enjoyed that much at all.

Best wishes -

I think it's certainly enough time to enjoy each resort. It will also give you a much better understanding of what each resort offers and how much time you think is right for your family in the future.

For me I look at Vero as a 2-5 day destination. HH I look at as a 3-10 day destination.

We spent one night in HH last winter....it wasn't really enough but it was all we had. Its a different environment from being at WDW....and more time to just relax doesn't seem wasted there, it just seems like the thing to do!

If you like relaxing and just hanging out with your family, rather than being off doing something all the time, you could spend any amount of time at HH and enjoy it. If 3 days is what you have, its fine. Its not a "gotta do it all" kind of place...its a sit back and relax and enjoy yourself kind of place.

I have no idea about VB, but I imagine it would be similar.

I think it is really all about what you are looking for in a vacation. We love WDW but the hub-bub of it all gets to us so we spend the smaller part of our vacation time there - usually 3-4 days. The rest of the time we spend at VB - around 10 days. I could easily spend two weeks there and so could my family. I love the slow pace - the rest of my life is hectic! I have to admit I'm not good about standing in lines - very impatient. Not a good quality, I know, but there it is.:earsgirl:

From my experience, three nights is probably enough at VB, but I would want to spend a bit more time at HH. We recently went to HH for two nights, and would like to have stayed longer. I personally think that there is more to do at HH than at VB. In any case, I would take three nights at either resort. They are both lovely!

We have done 5 nights at HHI and 3 nights at VB (following 6 nights at BWV). We felt like we had a really good taste of each resort. VB was a great and restful way to end a Disney vacation. We could have done 4 or 5 nights without a problem, but 3 was great. HHI for 5 nights was great. Any more than that and we would probably do day trips to Savanah or Charleston (which wouldn't be so bad, either.

Enjoy! :)
