3 night Merrytime...worth it?

I'm a teacher. I get 4 personal days a year. I would love to do a 3 night Merrytime--if we fly down Thursday night, I would only have to use 2 days, Friday and Monday. I'd really love to do a 4 night, but that would be 5 days off (one unpaid), or Thanksgiving week, which is twice the price of every other week.(actually I would love that week because if this year is any indication so far, I don't care if I ever host Thanksgiving again)
I have been on a 3 night and it is really short, but I just don't see a way to do a 4 night. We don't get off the ship in Nassau so we would have that day to explore the ship. If I go the weekend before Thanksgiving next year, with our placeholder we would be paying about $2000 for an aft verandah room (2 adults).

I think your question is, should you book a 3 night? Since you've sailed one previously, you know the limitations on time and activities. We did our first Merry Time cruise this year (7 night fantasy). I wouldn't book a cruise just for the decorations or activities. The only holiday thing we did was the cookie decorating.
If all you can do is 3 nights, and that is what works your schedule and at your budget. Go for it.

I don't mind a 3-nite. Do I love longer? Yes! But there is something about a 3 night for me. A quick, little get-away that just relaxes and recharges me. I would go for it!

I'm a teacher, too. Imo missing several days of teaching work (which requires several days of sub plans & back-up grading) is not at all worth taking a 4-night vs. a 3-night cruise. They're both short cruises. It's better to only miss Monday & Friday in order to take the 3-night cruise (& even better to just cruise during a holiday, although that is more expensive.)

We've taken two 3-nights, two 7-nights, and a 5-night. We're taking a 7-night next month and a 3-night next year. We've enjoyed every cruise, regardless of length. Some people aren't able to unwind easily, but if you can get yourself into vacation mode promptly, a 3-night cruise can be a wonderful getaway. Go for it. Christmas season is our favorite time to cruise: it's a festive time of year, the ship is beautifully decorated, and it feels good to vacation somewhere warm.

We were on the three night Merrytime that began November 15, and we enjoyed it so much that we booked one for next year. It had just the right amount of festivities! The Christmas tree lighting on the first night was especially beautiful!

We have to cancel our 8-night Northern European cruise this August due to possible school schedule changes for DD. To keep the OBB perk for booking a similar cruise in 2022, we are going on a 3-night Merrytime cruise in December 2020. I am excited about seeing the holiday decorations and visiting WDW during Christmas. It would be crowded but we would enjoy our vacation no matter what. Nothing is more magical than being in the Disney bubble over the holiday seasons. It’s more expensive to cruise during that period, so a 3-nighters wouldn’t hurt the wallet too much. We are not planning to take any excursion and may spend more time enjoying the Dream. Definitely trying out various alcohol tastings. It would be our second time sailing on the Dream. We can’t wait! If you know what you are expecting, go for it!
