I am going away with the ladies - our 4th annual - on Tuesday, staying at the BCV. We would like a room with a pool view, preferably on the first or second floor. Has anyone stayed on the ground level? Is the patio big enough to sit? Am I better off requesting the second floor, near one of the elevators?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but I had to post as your subject line brought a huge smile to my face as we do the same thing in my house. I wish I had "3 more sleeps" until WDW! Have a great time with the girls!!!!

I haven't stayed in a first floor room but the patios did have chairs on them when you walk by. Hope that helps.

What a great idea, going with the ladies!

Do you all own DVC? Are you from the same area? How did you decide on WDW? Has it always been the same group that has gone? I have copies of an article from our newspaper about a group of women who have been making trips together for 15 years. I would like to get one started, but so far, making copies of the article is all I've done.

Any suggestions for starting the tradition?

To answer your questions...
I am the only DVCer. This trip started 4 years ago with 10 of us. I was a CM at the time, so we stayed at PO for $35 per person per night (2 in a room). The next year there were only 6 of us (some got spooked by 9/11) and, since I wasn't working at TDS anymore, we stayed at the Dolphin. Last year, I was again working for TDS, so we stayed at the YC. There were 14 of us last year - too many, in a way. This year there are only 5 of us, and I think it will be PERFECT!. My 2 best girlfriends and I are the the only ones who have gone every year.
We have a BLAST! We do very little of the parks - 1 day. We lay by the pool, have a couple of cocktails, go to nice dinners, do the Illuminations Cruise, Jellyrolls,one day at Epcot, and just laugh til we are hoarse! It is the BEST!!!!!

I agree that going away to WDW with five ladies sounds like lots of fun. Of course my DW probably wouldn't approve of me doing it.

ROFL!!! Hey, we're harmless. Just 5 "40 something" ladies out for lots of R&R, sun, and laughs (did I mention cocktails in there?)
