3 Guys & a Lady December 2008 PTR w/pics

so glad you got all your ADR's. got all mine too...after i was on hold for an hour as well...granted we're not doing anything fancy mostly character meals for the girls...
love the memory box idea! i just may have to use that one...my DH is the sentimental one he saves tix of movies that we see together:love:

congrats on cirque...that's something we have an interest in but can't fit in..of well maybe next time!

We're doing 2 character meals.

Congrats on getting your ADRs :cool1:

I was going to say I'd probably have some good pics to share of cirque after but I'm not sure if one can take pics while there. Thats one thing I'll have to research.....
I am very new to this, I doubt it. Maybe next year lol, this is my first venture into discussion forums. I am so addicted to disboards, my DW calls it my gf.
I hear you, when I first found this site - I was addicted badly as well. DH had a few things to say too :rolleyes1 but when everything was planned & was turning out great (minus his kidney stone problem & my cam breaking) he realized how much these boards assisted me in planning. And even through the not so good stuff - we managed because of info learned. There is so much to learn here. Even when you think you know most of it :duck: watch out cause you learn more.

Something I did that was really fun last year for the kids was make a countdown calendar. You should check into that & do with yours. They would both have a blast with that. You would too, I'm sure ;) . I don't know why I am telling you what to do with your kids....just felt like telling you :lmao: . I guess just because we had so much fun with it. I'll do another this year, I just want to come up with something alittle different than last year.

Hey Roxanne,

I found you! Yeah!

I wanted to tell you that I was watching SW out of NO for my October trip and saw some AMAZING prices. I even saw a $54 one way several times. We were tempted to drive from North La., but we found a good deal through Airtran out of Dallas which is a lot closer for us. From what I remember the flight times were really good also!

I am really excited about your plans ~ they look really great.

Talk to you soon,

Tammy:goodvibes

Tammy!!!

I was thinking about PMing you to tell you I had another report going on but you found it :thumbsup2

You give me hope for SWA :hyper: You guys flew out of Dallas last year too, right?

Also, last year, I bought all sorts of goodies for the kids. I'm talking about all kinda stuff.

I fixed cute little baskets to put it all in. Got it shipped to the resort by UPS & they totally destroyed the stuff. :( So, I'm not doing that this year. Good choice, huh?

But I don't want to bring all kinds of stuff on the plane either. So, they each may get a few things, like maybe 1, but nothing like last year.

You guys...I have to tell you this too.

Last year I made a special purchase just for Disney.

Well, I made a few of those ::yes:: but the one I am referring to was a sit & stand stroller. I thought it would be good for the boys but I tell you, it was hard work moving that thing around.

In fact, we were tempted to sell it to a family on a bus ride back to the resort last time that was inquiring & really interested in it. Their kids were smaller, so it probably would have been good to them.

It was also a pain to get that huge thing folded up for the buses. We have never used it again. Infact, we're selling it now.

But, we're going to be looking for another one, stroller that is, not a sit & stand.

Taylor will have no choice but to walk, hopefully with the breaks & not many late nights, he'll do fine. But I would like to get something light weight & simple for Matt. We have a regular stroller & an umbrella stroller but I'd
like to get something else. Something between the two we have already.

Any suggestions?

I love my stroller that we bought for our December trip. It's umbrella style so it folds up nicely to slide under the bus seats, but it still lies back for naps and has a good size basket underneath. Also I think the weight limit is 45 or 50 so Hunter could get in if need be. I'll get the name for you. I think its a Graco. We got it at Sears for $100. I didn't like my Sit N Stand either. We sold it at the last yard sale.

Hey Roxanne! I just found your report. I'm glad you are going back and writing a new one.

Can't wait for more!!

What kind of things did you give the kids? Have you found stuff to give them this year yet?

Good luck finding a stroller!

I am also buying cute stuff for my girls to give to them from "mickey" they're still little enough to fall for it:rotfl: i plan on packing it in our luggage anyway it's ,ostly stuff from the dollar spot and target so it's not a big deal if something happens to it. ugh..the dreaded stroller! we're taking a double one even though i am NOT looking forward to it but i feel i have no other choice my daughter's are still little!

Hi. I'll be seeing you in December, my first trip onsite. We're in a suite at ASMu from the 11th till the 18th. Made ADR's today:yay: I may stop smiling by next weekend.

Hi!! Glad you made it here too. :thumbsup2

I gave them all sorts of stuff. Stuffed animals, punching bags, drinks, chalk, bubbles, pins, coloring books, crayons, straws & a lot more. I have an actual list from last year in my planning stuff, I'll have to get it out later & tell you for sure.

Oh deffinitely you'll need your double. Are those hard to manage, as in turns & such?

You shouldn't stop smiling till around.....hmmmm.....Dec. 16 or so :rotfl:

Graco mosaic. They have a few different versions and colors. Ours is the black and light green one. They make alot of different stollers like this. They even make a double stroller that flolds up small like an umbrella stroller. You just have to look for two handles instead of the bar handle. We really like ours.

ours is a smaller one and turns fairly easy. it's a side by side but the smaller sort that fits through a doorway. i don't like dealing with it, though. i just make my husband!lol.:rotfl:

Well here I was flipping through the PTR's and I found you. Loves it!!! headed back for another December trip, awesome. I will never do December again, I never realized how busy that month is for me, so I am going in January instead.

Yeah, your last trip did turn out to be a little crazy, I hope you all have a trouble free, sickness free no hassle trip this time.

December is a busy month but for us by now, it also means Disney - it goes together, it gives us that time away we need in the busy hassle of life.

Hello? Knock Knock...anyone home? :rolleyes1

Any new updates for us Roxanne?

Okay....now for the results of my ADRs....:rotfl:

You'll never guess what I done!!

I woke up called right on time. I used the toll free number & called on my house phone. :thumbsup2 Great. Then I get a crazy idea that maybe I will get through faster with my cell calling the regular number. So, here I am with a phone at each ear. :smokin: Am I cool or what!! Haha - well then I realize I didn't know if I turned the alarm off & I didn't want it going off & waking the kids so I go quietly turn it off & go back sit on the sofa when.... my chin hits the house phone & disconnects it. OMG I've been on hold for over a half hour on that line!! I was so mad at myself!!
So I just call back & finally after an hour of holding they answer on the regular number!! Yippee!!

I got everything I wanted within really close time frames too. I had to swap 2of the ressies but it made no big deal because both days we will be at MK. And I did drop WPC & added GFC.

So....one thing down - lots more to go.....lets get this thing going....:moped:

I'm so glad you're going again this year. I remember being on each other's December thread's last year and just found your new one today. Isn't it funny how crazy we get on the 180 day? You said you had a toll free number. Can you give me that number?

We've got the place to sleep....We've got food all covered....

Now, what are we going to do while over there? :confused3

Well, yeah, there is the obvious BUT this time we're going to do things a little differently. ::yes::

We always purchase park hoppers with no real good reason. We usually go to a park & spend the whole entire day there. Maybe on our last day we would jump around, do our favorites.

Well, last year we discovered a new thing - NAPS!!!

And you would not believe the difference that small word made to all of us.

So, this time, I'd like to schedule a few more of those in. Perhaps, visiting a
different park afterwards.

Not only that this time, I think I'd like to go to a water park. In all the times we've been to Disney, we have never stepped foot in one of these. Now, get this straight. I will not like it. I hate water parks. I hate water. But I LOVE  Disney and will try it. I know the 3
guys will enjoy it. I only hope its not too cold but I have that covered too. If its cool, we'll play mini golf instead.

And since we'll be purchasing the water park option, I think it includes Disney Quest. Which again we've never been. I know Steve & Taylor will get a kick out of that place. Matthew will be too young to enjoy, so after we go make a stroll through it; we'll ditch the 2 older guys & head out for a little shopping. ;) I am sure the other two will not mind, they just so love to shop (yeah right!!)

Naps in the middle of the day are a must on WDW trips for us. We either return each day for a nap or to go to the pool. Either way, we feel so much more relaxed and ready to hit another park. It helps us to fully enjoy our experiences.

Oh, 1 more new thing, but you gotta keep this a secret, so Shhh....
;)

We will be going to Cirque on the first night we get there - get it? :goodvibes

Need a hint??

Ahem....Anniversary.....Steve loves this type of stuff. However, I think this is something we all will like.

And I got great seats, I think. Last row on the floor - seats 1, 2 & 3 near the middle aisle.

Hopefully, Steve won't find out this detail of the trip until the morning of. I plan on giving him a box with memorabilia of the last 12 years & Disney deffinitely falls into that::yes:: , so I'll include that as the new memory.

Cheesy I know, but hey, thats me. :hippie:

What a great surprise! I can't wait to hear how you like the show. We keep saying we're going to go, but we've never booked it.

I can't wait to read more. :goodvibes

Someone is home, for real....just haven't had anything new happening - don't even go think for a second that I have abandoned this thing....its just slow right now.

I don't have the 800 number handy right now, I found it on the boards but it changes from time to time, I believe. One may work today but not tomorrow. If I come across it, I'll pm it to you.

Hiya everyone, Not much new to post except that.....

I have gotten our airline tickets. I had been looking & looking & decided to look no more. I booked with Southwest at $232 a piece. The times were great though I know they'll probably change numerous times.

Summer has flown by, life is passing me by, I will be back at this thing full force eventually....

Hi Roxanne! Signing on to read your PTR. Yours caught my attention b/c we will be there same time, same place AND I requested a preferred room this time too, walk was soooo long last time. Isn't ASMu the best??? Your boys are cute :goodvibes they look so much alike they could be twins!

Looking forward to reading more of your planning so keep up the good work :)
