3 Generations Wandering the Wilderness from "Cabin" Camping to Club Level-FW & WL

Were y'all there before the rooms were refurbed? Or after? The bedding use to be dark, now it's white and brightens the room quite a bit. Their CL staff was the best!! :thumbsup2 More on that later ::yes::

We were there before the refurb. Sounds like a nice change. And it sounds like we may need to go back for another stay! :thumbsup2

Looks like your first day at WL was off to a great start! Can't wait to see pics of the CL offerings!

WL is just beautiful! I really really want to stay there some time soon! Perhaps next year? I just love it! :)

I got goosebumps when I saw the WL entrance. We r going for the first time in 59 days (not that I'm counting) and it can't come soon enough. Can't wait to see what all you have in store.

Love the pics of the entrance and you are right about all the details. Disney definitely doesn't skimp! Like I mentioned before, we visited WL last month and I loved it so much! Got to save some dollas for next trip! :)))

Hi Heather!

I really enjoyed seeing more of CBR. I have to agree with you though - for some reason, and I really can't explain why, it just doesn't really interest me. It would be very low on my list of Resorts I Want to Try. :confused3

Awww - it's sad to say good-bye to FW. I loved seeing all the pics and learning more about it. :goodvibes

But I am super-excited for your WL stay!!!! :woohoo:

The only mod we've done is POR and we loved it. While we were there, we walked over to POFQ and thought it looked great, too. I like the fact that it wasn't so big. Would definitely like to try it.

Lots more pics to come :thumbsup2 You won't be disappointed with their CL...I hope  Guess it can be very subjective...

POFQ was great because it was a smaller resort. And the family loved the water slide (who wouldn't love being spit out of the mouth of a fictitious sea serpent? :rotfl: ).

Seriously, WL CL will be awesome. We are soooo excited, you have no idea! We have wanted to stay there for a few years now. And so far, as I can see from your fabulous photos, we definitely will not be disappointed :goodvibes

Those comfort stations do look quite nice. Bill can have the tent and you'll stay in the cabin... Tent camping, to me, is too much. I was subjected too many times when I was young.

Love that you still got entry pictures, the topiaries are so cute.

Awesome room location!!!

:rotfl: I'm guessing you're not a camping fan! I'll definitely take the cabin or an RV ;)

We were there before the refurb. Sounds like a nice change. And it sounds like we may need to go back for another stay! :thumbsup2

The rooms are much better now (JMO;)) The darker rooms were a bit dated. Pictures to come :thumbsup2

Looks like your first day at WL was off to a great start! Can't wait to see pics of the CL offerings!

CL offerings were outstanding!!! ::yes:: I could use some of their famous cobbler right now!

WL is just beautiful! I really really want to stay there some time soon! Perhaps next year? I just love it! :)

I think it's the woodsy feel of the Lodge that is so appealing. Probably why I liked POR so much, too. Very inviting and comfortable.

Count away!!! The WL will well be worth the wait!!!

I'm always trying to save Disney Dollars :upsidedow We have a small water jug in the kitchen that we are constantly filling with our spare change. Got it going for our cruise next summer. If you like POR, you'll probably like WL.

Funny thing, the CBR has that "island" feel....and I love the Caribbean. So why don't I love the resort:confused3 Who knows?!

Did you realize you only have like a week before your trip!!?? ;) Of course you did  I know Willow is beyond excited!

POFQ was great because it was a smaller resort. And the family loved the water slide (who wouldn't love being spit out of the mouth of a fictitious sea serpent? :rotfl: ).

You're right!! The kids would think that is the best ever!! When we visited POFQ, I made tons of pics of the pool. It did look like tons of fun.

Seriously, WL CL will be awesome. We are soooo excited, you have no idea! We have wanted to stay there for a few years now. And so far, as I can see from your fabulous photos, we definitely will not be disappointed :goodvibes

Nope! It won't disappoint:thumbsup2 Wait until you see the food pics...especially the cobbler ::yes::

Day 5
A Wilderness Lodge & Epcot Afternoon
Part 1

After breakfast, we were able to move into one of our rooms! This worked out perfectly! While I unpacked, the kids went to the pool for a swim. And yes, I’m one of those people who have to unpack everything before I can enjoy myself. :teeth:

The kids said the slide wasn’t nearly as fun as the Fort…it was just too slow. You can actually tell how slow it is in Jesse’s picture. It looks like he’s barely moving! They were a bit disappointed, but nothing that they pouted about. Hopefully with the refurb going on, Disney will improve this aspect of the pool.

Pop was at the pool, too. However he didn't do much swimming. He was getting his share of pictures.

If you look closely in the picture below, you can see the scaffolding around the stream. Of course I wished the construction wasn’t there, but it didn’t take away from our trip in the least.

The Lodge really is quite beautiful and so very inviting…very relaxed.

Mom and dad were able to get into their room fairly quickly, too. So after we finished unpacking and swimming, we tidied up a bit and went to grab a bite to eat at the Roaring Fork. No pictures, though. Then it was off to Epcot via the bus!!! :yay:

When the bus pulled into EP, the parking lot didn’t appear full at all!!! I was almost wishing we had come earlier. Our FP for Test Track was between 4-5…dinner ressie at 6, so we were good on time. :thumbsup2

Jesse was dying to get a photo “holding the gray ball” (his words). The photographer was very nice however…. notice the pictures are a bit cockeyed. :confused3 Not exactly straight. But nevertheless, Jesse was satisfied.

Since there wasn’t a line, we had to enter and knock this out.

On a rare occasion, brotherly love… makes my heart melt

Continued to next post!

Continued from previous post...

Day 5
A Wilderness Lodge & Epcot Afternoon
Part 2

Test Track was up next!!! :car:

The standby line wasn’t bad at all…only like a 35 minute wait which was really good. I’ve heard positives and negatives about the new TT, so I was anxious to see it firsthand. The kids thoroughly enjoyed creating a car before getting on the ride…kinda neat. And definitely kills time!

The ride is still great, however….I like the old one better. ::yes:: This one is a little sci-fi looking or something.

When exiting the ride, there are still cars that you can check out. I watched Jesse for quite some time. :scratchin He touched every inch of the car, pressed every button, and feverishly looked for a way to start the thing!

Our next FP was Mission Space, or should I say for mom, and the kids – I don’t do that ride! The FP totally wasn’t necessary because there were no crowds. Weird! Not sure what dad and I were discussing. It appears that we aren’t sure what to do next. You would think we are novices

Dad and Bill said they needed a restroom break. I waited and waited but they never returned. They got sidetracked, and this is where I found them…

Definitely worth watching! Love these guys! :thumbsup2

Mom and the kids did Mission Space twice…Green and Orange! :scared1:

And what’s an EP visit without visiting Mexico?!!

Dad captured this photo from the Grand Fiesta Tour … always an exciting ride.

Over at Norway, the Vikings got a little crazy!

Up next…. Dinner at Hacienda!:hyper:

:wave2:
You're my first post in many days. I thought summer is supposed to be relaxing and leisurely, but since this summer break started, I've been busier than when school is in session. Looking forward to September…what am I saying?

If it weren't for this:

"Bill is completely sold on the whole tent camping thing….me, not so much."

We wouldn't be at The Old Faithful Club now! :thumbsup2

You were in good hands with Rosalind and Loyda. In fact, I told Rosalind that you said HI and she said, "Oh, you know Heather?" They'll never forget you up there:rotfl:

Looks like you were in my favorite wing - south is awesome! Did you have an extra bunk or did Bill try it out to get a tiny taste of his camping dream?

Love the Lodge shot as you're approaching. Was that through the window or did you stop traffic and get out?

Just noticed you posted another installment and I'm looking forward to more OFC and WL:hyper:

Finally got caught up. Was a lot further behind then I thought.

I really appreciate the CBR photos. My mom and I are taking my niece in January and I'm having a really hard time deciding where to stay. It's my mom's and my munchkins first trip. We want to make it awesome for her. I know she will enjoy the Little Mermaid rooms but I kinda want to stay somewhere with a slide at the pool. And she would loooove a Pirate room. And I know many people don't think about swimming in January but this girl will swim even if her lips are blue. So long story short thanks for the pics it really helps.

And you have now made me want to tent camp at Ft. Wilderness. Even though I think when DBF and I do this we will rent an RV since we will be bringing our dog and he handles heat about as well as we do so we will need the A/C.

Ohhhh Wilderness Lodge. We just officially made this our home for September. The pictures are making me so happy with our choice!

Yay for first park day. I can't believe how much you have done without a park day. I couldn't imagine.

Y'all were off to a great start at EPCOT....getting lots done! :thumbsup2

I'm excited to ride TT in Oct. It was undergoing the refurb when we last went. It'll be Reid's 1st time getting to ride it. :cool1:

Love all the fun photos in the WS!

Tut tut Heather, how could you forget pictures at Roaring Fork? :rotfl:

You guys got a lot done at Epcot! Where were the musicians? That looks like something we'd enjoy.

That Mexico ride is god awful! It is really sad to me that Epcot is not being updated. Does anyone go to the Universe of Energy anymore unless they want a nap?:confused3
There is sooo much potential if Disney would just invest a little money on updating existing experiences. It makes me sad to see it when Universal is doing a heck of job with new and exciting experiences. I am not looking for Disney to go to all thrill rides, but Epcot needs to get out of the mid 90s. Sorry :mic: getting off my soap box now.

Awesome updates!! I loved the shots you took around the resort. Can't wait to see more of OFC! :thumbsup2

Your first post in days...well, I do feel special :snooty: :teeth: And you're right, summer is supposed to be relaxing. BUT it usually never is when kids are involved.

That Rosalind is a real sweetie :goodvibes And how could they forget us :upsidedow They only witnessed us chasing Jesse each and every day. He doesn't know how to walk off an elevator...it's a mad dash he makes. So yes ::yes:: they got to know Jesse very well.

No bunks for Bill...he was out of luck. And no stopping traffic...Bill was behind me pushing us forward  Had to do a quick shot out of the window.

Ya know....it could very well be really nice weather in January:thumbsup2 And some of the pools are heated, I think. Not sure about CBR. Just throwing this out there, but POR has the Princess rooms. Our kids really liked them, even the boys.

And you have now made me want to tent camp at Ft. Wilderness. Even though I think when DBF and I do this we will rent an RV since we will be bringing our dog and he handles heat about as well as we do so we will need the A/C.

We saw several of those rental RVs. The reason I know they were rentals is because it was written in big bold letters across the side  Bill and I actually talked about doing that to see if we would like it or not.

Ohhhh Wilderness Lodge. We just officially made this our home for September. The pictures are making me so happy with our choice!

Yay for first park day. I can't believe how much you have done without a park day. I couldn't imagine.

Lot to see at the WL! And if you get really adventurous, you can easily visit the CR and the Fort with a quick boat ride.

Y'all were off to a great start at EPCOT....getting lots done! :thumbsup2

Love all the fun photos in the WS!

The creating a car thing is really cool. And the car you create will pop back up during the ride. For some reason, the blue lights they use on TT remind me of Tron ...very futuristic.

Tut tut Heather, how could you forget pictures at Roaring Fork? :rotfl:

You guys got a lot done at Epcot! Where were the musicians? That looks like something we'd enjoy.

They were called the Jammitors Trash Can Band. I should have put that in the post :upsidedow If you walk through that pathway between Innoventions East and the big gift shop...like heading towards Mission Space, you will see them. They're really quite impressive.

That Mexico ride is god awful! It is really sad to me that Epcot is not being updated. Does anyone go to the Universe of Energy anymore unless they want a nap?:confused3

:rotfl: I agree. It needs updating, especially the movie part...old! The same goes for the movie at Norway...it's very dated...like 80s!

Awesome updates!! I loved the shots you took around the resort. Can't wait to see more of OFC! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Pics coming soon of the the OFC...lots of them!!!

Cause you ARE special (as Kooksterrific is as well)..
Quick post from the ambulance, I'm lurking along :)

I love your fathers pictures of the WL. You both take excellent pictures! The PP pics of the kids holding up the "Giant Ball" are too cute.
