after having spent MONTHS and MONTHS reading every dining report on here, i finally had my turn to make ADR's and go to DW!! we are back for a week now and i think it's time to start posting. here's a rundown of our group.

me: 35 year old compulsive planner
dh: willing accomplice
dd's: 9, 6, & 4. they eat so little, it's not even worth mentioning!!
my dad: first trip to disney!
my gram: also first trip to disney
my sis: joined us for 3 days from LA. done disneyland, 1st trip to DW.
tami: sis's friend who also joined us for 3 days. another first timer.

i'm just going to talk about the table service meals we had. but i must mention the shwarma platter at Tangerine Cafe in Epcot. oh lord was this good!! and it was sooooooooo much food!! a great deal if on the dining plan -- which i should mention, we all were.

ok, so day 1 - dinner at Crystal Palace . this place is so pretty. the characters all came by at least once. our server was slow with the drinks, but it was our first night, what did we care! anyway, i had the salmon which was really good, the garlic mashed potatoes - yum, and a great green salad with blue cheese. it was so good i had seconds. i also had the bread pudding with baileys irish cream sauce. it was HEAVENLY!! it's hard for me to remember what everyone else had at a buffet, so i won't guess, but i do know my grandma had the prime rib and said it was really good. we would do this again for sure.

day 2 - dinner at Whispering Canyon. this was our first time here. my dad, hubby and i all had the all u can eat skillet. it was really good. the salad and beans were nothing special. good but not outstanding. the rest was great. loved the corn bread and chicken. hubby really liked the ribs. but the pulled pork was our favorite. we had to get 2nds of that! don't know what my grandma was thinking when she ordered the grouper. but she liked it. i just think it's nuts not to order the skillet! for dessert we had 2 chocolate cakes and 2 cinnamon tortillas with vanilla ice cream and banana carmel sauce. they were both great. i actually think i preferred the cinnamon tortilla. the kids really enjoyed the the pony races, and the whole ketchup schtick. don't think gram was thrilled with the noise level, but she only complained once or twice. and she loved her meal!

day 3 - breakfast at Chef Mickey . anytime there are doughnuts involved, the girls eat. i myself had some kind of pre-made omelette that was pretty good. also fruit, sausage links, potatoes. it was all good, hot, fresh and we really loved the variety they had. the characters were great. we will go back for sure.

dinner at Hoop Dee Do . i thought we were going here for the show, and the food would be secondary. but we actually really, really liked the food! the fried chicken was so crisp outside, and so juicy. it was really suprisingly good! the ribs and corn on the cob were also very good. our server brought the girls some mac and cheese when he noticed they weren't eating. we also enjoyed the strawberry shortcake. and i can't believe how much everyone enjoyed the show. it was so great to look around the table and see my grandma laughing just as hard as my girls. this was probably one of the highlights of the trip. still thinking about that fried chicken! can't wait to go back!

still have 4 more days to cover, but that will have to wait. i'll finish when i can. are you getting the idea that i pretty much like everything? i can't help it. we really didn't have a bad meal! should also mention i just lost 70 lbs. and so i haven't eaten like this in MONTHS! i really couldn't keep up!! more to come...

3lilprincesses,

Glad to hear you enjoyed the eating end of WDW! I really identify with that obsessive planning thing! ;)

We have never done the Crystal Palace since we are not big buffet fans but choices are limited for a sit-down dinner at MK with the change to the Cindy's Castle.

Sounds like you did a great job booking ADRs considering the vast differences in ages you had to please. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to the next round!!

P.S. Way to go on the weight loss! :goodvibes

Thanks for the reviews!

I agree, the fried chicken at HDD is the best Ive ever had...and the show is wonderful for all ages. Glad you enjoyed it!
