We'll be staying at Reunion resort for a week in August, and visiting Disney 5 days. After our 7 nights at Reunion it will be Labour Day weekend and I am looking to go to a beach for the last three days of our trip.
I feel a little overwhelmed with all the choices.
I *think* I have narrowed it down to going to the Gulf side after some research and reading older posts on this topic.
I would like to not be in the middle of a crazy busy place, and would prefer a smaller place with shops and restaurants. Just not looking for a party vibe.

Siesta Key looks great, and rentals on AirBnB look reasonable. Does anyone have any other ideas? We have a a car and are not adverse to travelling up to three hours, though I don't think we'd want to venture out much further.
Any help is appreciated. :)

We were in Redington Shores in April. We stayed right on the beach in a condo I found on vrbo - absolutely gorgeous beach, amazing sunsets. We looooved it. Definitely not a party vibe at all - low key, quiet area with a few restaurants. It was relatively close to St John's Pass with shops and restaurants, but we did not venture down there. We really enjoyed the area overall and will for sure go back. Wish I was there now. It was about 2 hours from Orlando.

We go to Siesta Key very often. We love it there, very quiet, can walk to St. Armands. Easy drive to St. Pete, there are museums and different things that we enjoy seeing.

Thank you both. I will look into Remington Shores, Tattylou.
And dish rag, it sounds lovely and I think might just be the place for us to go :).

Arrived back to our villa ,this evening Wednesday , from a visit to Siesta Key ,

We left from the Hwy 27 / 192 area on Tuesday .. It took over 3 hours via I-4 & Hwy 15

There are very few Hotels /Motels in the area & very few Public Access places to the beaches .

Most will require parking your car and walking , some distance , over boardwalk & onto beach .

Most will have restrooms & water fountains .

We had looked up places to stay but we ended up at The Best Western Plus Ambassador just off Hwy 75

On the way to Venice ( Florida )

It was very good , large rooms, good heated pool , & a Hot Breakfast ,,,,,, there were at least 3 eating places
including A Cracker Barrel & A McDonalds within a mile.

Yes it was a 15 min drive to Casey Key & then more driving time to get to Siesta Key.

The place we stayed in Redington Shores was called Anglers Cove. It was literally right on the beach. I'm not sure if they have minimum night requirement.
