3 days enough?

We would likely do Universal Hollywood for a few days and then move down to DL, targeting our park days Tues-Thursday.

Universal Studios really isn't a multi-day visit..There are things to do, but it's nothing like Universal-Florida. Most people (including my family) can do it in a single day. Look into getting the front of the line tickets. These tickets cost a bit more, but you avoid all lines and get preferred seating at the shows. USH doesn't have a fastpass system and lines get very long! My sister went last weekend and waited 2 hours for Jurassic park:scared1:
If you were going to be touring other sites in the Hollywood area then an extra day for sightseeing would work and then you could add an extra day(s) to your DL experience.

Just wrapped up the latest WDW visit and now looking ahead to a DL/VGC visit in August 2011. Integrating the AP blackout calendar into our planning, and one more question: Any thoughts on whether or not the D23 Expo will have an impact on either DL crowd levels or VGC capacity during the week of Aug 15?

Thanks!

We were there this year from August 22nd-28th and were expecting HUGE crowds .... but they just didn't seem to be there! The longest line we saw was for Splash at 50 or 60 minutes (I can't remember exactly), but we could still pick up fastpasses so that wasn't a problem. The only ride we waited more than 20 minutes for was Toy Story Mania (no fastpass), and that was 40 minutes both times we rode it . Many rides were a walk-on, or 5-10 minute waits - even Fantasyland at 11am-1pm :confused3 (8am opening). We were at DL 3 years ago a couple of days before and a few days after the APs opened up and there DID seem to be a crowd surge, but we really didn't notice it this year at all. We were very pleasantly surprised :cool1:

As a previous poster stated, I would be one of those on the boards that recommends more time at DL than less :) Seriously, though we were hardcore when we went both times, it would sure be nice to just be able to relax, sit in Orleans, and watch the crowds with something to eat. I am going to do that this year with my wife when we go without kids. Plus, we also hope to relax more at the VGC, than we did when we stayed at the GC std. room (though admittedly, we were only in the room for power naps in the afternoon and at night).
