3 Day Wonder Cruise Leaving Nassau early?

Does anyone know why the 3 day Wonder cruises from August 2004 until February 2005 leave Nassau at 7:30PM instead of 10:30PM? They used to offer an evening catamaran cruise for teens, but it has been discontinued since they leave so early.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a tropical deck party. I will be on the September 30th 3-day cruise and that's what I've been told.

I'm curious about this too. I'm set to sail next sept 05 and right now our itinerary says we leave at 11pm. I won't be happy if they change that to 7pm as we're planning a long day at atlantis!:( Does anyone know why and if this is going to be an every year thing?

is this just for the 3 day wonder or the 4 day wonder too???

Was on the Wonder last weekend (9-16 to 9-19) and our itinerary stated we would leave Nassau at 11:00 p.m. but we actually left sometime during the early dinner seating. Not sure why, but didn't mind anyway. After a very short excursion to shore we spent most of the day in the Mickey pool!

This is posted on the disneycruise.com site in regard to the 3 night:

"* Sailings from August 19, 2004 to February 20, 2005 will depart Nassau at 7:30 pm. All Guests should be onboard at 7:00 pm in preparation for our departure."

This does not apply to the 4 night, so I'm baffled as to why they are doing this for the 3 night.

The DIS posted this under DCL news a couple of months ago:
NASSAU DEPARTURE Beginning in 8/19/04 and until 2/20/05, the Disney Wonder three night cruise will depart Nassau at 7:30pm in order to better facilitate the popular Tropical Deck Party. When we cruised in May, we had the Tropical Deck party beginning at 10pm on the Nassau day. I thought it was pretty cool to be out there on the deck when the Wonder set sail. I haven't seen a better explanation of why they are making this temporary change.

I recently got my shore excursion sheet from the TA for the 11/11 3-night Wonder. The teen junkanoo jam (which is what I'm assuming is being referred to) is still listed as 7:00. That was the one excursion my son was really looking forward to... :(

Hey sweet angel,
I am on the 11/11 wonder too, what is the shore excursion sheet that you refer to? I have a booklet that I rec'd from my TA when we booked, but have not yet reserved any excursions. I'll have to go back to the 11/11 meets thread to see if there are any more cruisers than the 7 of us last time I checked. The tropical party sounds interesting though, bring on the margaritas.

Joanne, you can print off a shore excursion sheet right from the Disneycruise website. Here is the link for the Nassau excursions. On the right hand side of the page you'll see a link for "reserved in advance". That will open another window for downloading the shore excursion sheet.

The reason they probably still list the teen junkaroo is that the excursions are the same for both the 3 and 4 night, but only the 3 night is affected by the early sailing from Nassau.

I haven't seen any more than the 9 of us sailing on that date.

After I paid my trip in full, the TA sent me the Shore Excursions - Your Personal Guide booklet, together with a Disney Wonder Shore Excursion Facts sheet, listing prices, times, etc., a Shore Excursion Request Form, and booklet about Disney Cruise Line Gifts. Nothing really earth-shattering, and no info that you couldn't get elsewhere.

My son is going to be bummed about the Junkanoo Jam, but I'll be right there with you and the margaritas!!!!! :drinking1

EDITED to ask: So does anyone know WHY we'll be leaving Nassau early??
