3 day plan, no PH's, what would you do?

We've decided not to do PH's on our trip in mid-May. One of our group will only be with us one day, and another person doesn't get around as well and would like to focus on one park per day. We will get G+. There are no parties, holidays or Grad nights on the schedule.

My question: If you were going Mon-Wed, and Wed had to be DL, for crowd reasons would you do DL-DCA-DL or DCA-DL-DL?

I always do 3 day 1 park tickets, Disneyland Main Park, California Adventures, Disneyland Main Park.

My park days on my most recent trip were Sunday 30 January, Monday 31 January, Tuesday 1 February No Park Day and Wednesday 2 February . You can read my trip report here SOLO IN LA AND DISNEYLAND

If given the choice, I would always do DL-DCA-DL. DCA is smaller and more lowkey than DL, so while it's not exactly restful, it will give you a little bit of a reprieve in between two DL days.

Further, if mobility is limited. On the first DL day, focus on Tomorrowland and fantasyland. On the other DL day, focus on the rest. That will limit the amount of walking needed.

this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t visit the other side of the park, especially if you have genie+.

I do not feel crowd-wise counts anymore. ALL DAY are BUSY!
The only way you will have a low crowd day, is if the weather is crappy and the locals stay home.

For low crowd times in the parks, be there at rope drop and the last few hours the park is open. This is when I have found the parks to be most manageable. Mid-day it's pretty much should-to-shoulder.

More people in the park is precisely why DL is preferred over DCA. At DCA, there are fewer rides so wait times get longer than at DL. There's also more likely to be congestion in DCA from food and wine.

For a first timer how many days in each park would you recommend? We are wdw vets but have never been to DLR? It will be a party of 6 adults, a 14 y/o & two 4 year olds.

I generally recommend 2 days of Disneyland and one day of California Adventure. While some people recommend more to truly experience everything at a slower pace, I find that most people are already very tired after 3 days in the park and can't really maximize their time. Plus, most people who have never been to DLR before may also want a few days to explore LA, go to the beach, use their hotel pool, etc.

It’s hard for me to say. With the 4 yo I’d lean toward 4 minimum. My kids have disabilities and we take 5 days each time but we don’t stay full days. We also aim for every other day in the park.
