My family is currently booked for three day tickets with park hoppers. However, I am beginning to question that decision. We were not going to visit a park on our check-in day but we arrive at the airport at 9:30am. Do you think we would be better off switching to 5 day tickets without hoppers? Trying to avoid spending more money.

Original Plan: (hopping as desired)
Day 1: Pool/Resort Day
Day 2: MK
Day 3: AK
Day 4: HS/MK
Day 5: Home

New Plan: (using two of the tickets on day 4)
Day 1: Epcot?? or any park
Day 2: MK
Day 3: AK
Day 4: HS/MK
Day 5: Home

- Just as a side note my kids are 9, 6, and not quite 2

I am pretty sure they just don’t allow you to use two tickets on one day. They force you to buy hoppers...

Why not buy 5 day standard tix, hit one park the first day then upgrade the remaining days to hoppers? I believe this can be done, we buy regular park passes from UT then upgrade to APs once there.

4 regular day tickets if you're not visiting a park on day 5. I pick more park time over hopping.

You cannot use 2 days of your 5 day ticket on the same day. That is why they sell park hoppers. You can’t beat the system that way :) They make you to buy park hoppers for every day of your trip.

Upgrading to park hopper is not prorated - so if you upgrade to a hopper after the first day, you are still paying to add the hopper to that first day even though it has passed. May as well get the hopper right away because the cost is the same. You have to buy the hopper for all the days no matter when you add the hopper option.

Thanks. I feel like I knew this but was totally having a mommy brain moment. I'm honestly not even sure if we need the hoppers as the HS won't have much going on while we are there but I always get nervous about not having the option of switching parks.

I, personally, would not buy hoppers just to hop on one day. It looks like you are thinking of going to the parks on 4 days. I would just buy 4-day base tickets and have 4 full days to enjoy one park each day. I would probably do EP, AK and MK for 2 days if DHS doesn't have enough to interest you for a full day.

2nd vote for a 4-day base ticket so you can go to the parks all 4 days. If you decide you want to hop, you can add it when you're there and it won't cost any different than if you get it now.

If you really can change these tickets your "family is currently booked for" , I would change them to 4 day base tickets. The difference is only one dollar between the cost of a four day and the 3 day with with hopper.
