3 Day or 3 Day Hopper?

As a follow up to my questions this morning, I’m wondering if we should buy the hopper or just the single park pass? Will arrive 12/12 around 3pm. Have decided not to buy the one day pass or four day, since on arrival, we will only have until 8 pm in the park. We’ll probably just hang at the GC pool or Downtown Disney. Unless, someone has a strong opinion that it’s worth the cost and time save to go on 2/12.

Should we buy the 3 day hopper or 3 day single park pass?

I say, get the hopper, especially since you are staying at the Grand Californian! Early entry into DCA is awesome. Hit what you want to ride while pulling FPs then pop on over to DL to ride the FPs you pulled while in DCA. You can switch parks when they start to get too crowded. The best is having the entrance to the hotel at Grizzly Rapids' exit. Great when you are soaked head to toe.

I'd think hard about it for a single day, but for a multi day it's really just the same $50 spread out over multiple days.

As long as you aren't trying to see everything, you can pretty easily get to everything you want in a park in one day. Doing one park per day passes for the three days means that you can do your must-dos on the first two days and choose the park that has the most you still want to do on the third day. That is the option that I would choose (and will choose this year) as someone who has been to the parks in the past and knows what he likes there. If you don't get to the parks that often or need the flexibility, the hopper option is a reasonable choice, especially since the transportation between the two parks is literally a walk across the street.

The number of people in the party matters, too. If you have 4 or more, it is worth pricing out if the hopper or an extra day in the parks are similar in price.
