Hi,
Can anyone tell me about booking a 3 day land, 4 day cruise?

Is it best to do it all together or cheaper to just book the cruise and handle the land (park) part of the package on your own?

What if Disney offers any of their new promotions, example the "magic your way" packages, where they just gave away free dining and they pick you up at the airport and it's free transfers.

If I book a land/cruise package NOW for 2007, (whenever those prices come out) and they come out with a new promo in 2007, will I get the promo?

OR, what if I just book the cruise part now, Can I also book the resort that I want for 2007 also this far in advance?

WIll the prices be better now to just go ahead and do the land/cruise package now, since the prices will have gone up in 2007?

I guess I have to many questions.

Maybe I would be better off asking a TA.

Thanks to anyone who can answer any of my quetions.

It depends on the catagory you would like to choose. The land/sea package hotels are tied together and are based ont he cat. you choose on the sea side. Most times, it is probably cheaper to do them separately. On the curise side, if they offer any promotions, as long as YOU call them and your cabin qualifies for the lower rate, they will drop it (through DCL I have done this before-not sure about TA, but they said they would). Also, making them separate allows for you to get a land package that might include food. I don't think with a land/sea package they even consider land promos like the current free dining.

I think that might answer some questions. Me personally, I would definately do them separate - but then I like making travel plans :goodvibes . I think it would allow you the most choices and save you money.

We just booked a land/sea for next spring through Allseastravel.com. I tried to price seperately, but it still came out higher. I believe it's because either a) AST books cruise rooms in bulk so there was a ton of savings there or b) the savings on the land package isn't substantial unless you are an annual passholder or a FL resident. I couldn't figure out how to bring the cost down to make it worth while on the land portion.... maybe since the hotel room discounts aren't offered way in advance like the cruise. Not sure. I also heard that if you book a Cat. 6 on the ship it usually is cheaper to book them together. Hope that helps. If you find any other info on finding savings at the resorts, pls. let me know!
