DD will be 20 months during our upcoming trip to WDW. Just wondering if we should skip the 3-D movie attractions, or are they worth a try? I can't imagine that she'd keep the 3-D glasses on, so I don't know that the attraction will keep her interest. If we try it, and she doesn't sit still, is there an easy exit? DH and I love Philharmagic, but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. Your thoughts and experiences with little ones in 3D movies? Thanks!

We took DD when she was 5 months and for her 2 year birthday to the 3D movies. She actually kept the glasses on better when she was 5 months. She put them on and took them off during the other shows when she was 2 but she still had a good time. I'd say go for it. As long as she'll sit still for the show I'm sure you'll have fun.

DS was not interested in Philarmagic at 15 months, but Cheerios kept him happy during it ;) At 20 months, he liked it for the music, but wouldn't keep his glasses on.

I have heard that some of the 4D shows (like Honey I Shrunk the Audience and I *think* Tought to be a Bug) can really freak the kids out, since they're not expecting those types of things.

Make your decision based on your child. My oldest son loved all the shows, however, my second son does not like loud noises and was a little freaked out. I make sure to bring ear plugs for him(even now at 3 1/2 yrs) so he can enjoy the show.

Poohbug

My family has one big pirate: and three little pirate: pirate: pirate: I guess that makes me the princess:

DD was 31 months last trip. We only took her to Philharmagic. She did like it, but refused to put the glasses on. I agree you have to go by your child. Sometimes they are afraid because the shows are pretty loud. We just took dd to a local theatre to see the live Go Diego Go show and she sat on my lap so she could see. But she also wanted my arms around her waist the entire time - I think because it was dark in the theatre and with the mics and everything, the singing is kind of loud. She absolutely loved it though.

My then 17 month old LOVED Mickey's Philharmagic. She did not wear the glasses, but she still enjoyed the music and the images. DD5 loved it too! We did not do Bug's Life, knowing that DD5 would be freaked. DD5 saw the Muppets, but wasn't too impressed. My 17 month old was napping at the time, so I missed it.

im 22 and honey I shunk the audienace was scary. I did ok till it moved and till the snake charged at us. Might be cool for your child without the glasses.

I would strongly recommend that you consider <not> taking your child to a Bug's Life...of the 3 it is the scariest...3-D or not. Muppets and Philharmagic can be enjoyed without the glasses.

I agree with previous post. It's a bugs life scared my 5 yr DS. He was crying with his face hidden the whole time. It is good but for a bit older child. Gook luckpopcorn::

I agree with the comments on Bug's Life. I've seen many a mom/dad with toddler run for the exit at Bug's Life . . it's a totaly sensory experience. . . smells included. YUCK! I am also an adult who doesn't like Honey I Shrunk the Audience at all. It think it too could really scare a toddler. Philharmagic is probably your best bet since there is plenty of time when you'll be entertained by Disney films. There will be plenty of stuff for a 20month old to enjoy . . . Dumbo, Small World. I would hold off on the 3D til the next trip! It'll be a good reason to go back!

We did all three when DS was 18months...he was fine (didn't leave the glasses on), but there was A LOT of other kids screaming in Bug's Life.
