I'm so excited we've hopefully got everything planned now!

It's so hard to get everything organised without the children overhearing :)
We've booked all the restaurants we want to eat at for dinner and have managed to book cafe mickey for lunch on our last day, I can't wait to see my boys faces!!

I've made a mini itinerary so we have a plan of which rides and shows we want to do and see every day.

I just can't wait now and really want to tell the children but we are not saying a word about where we are going until we get there and they see the Disney village sign!!

Can anyone tell me what the restaurants we have booked are like?

#Plaza Gardens
#Les Grange Billy Bobs
#Hunters Grill
#Cafe Mickey

You must be there just after us :)
I've also booked Plaza Gardens and Billy Bob's, we almost always do the buffet at PG, everyone finds something they like there, but Billy Bob's is a first for us :thumbsup2
Hunters Grill I haven't eaten there since 2007 so can't comment, Cafe Mickey i always enjoy the food I know others have complained but it's all about the characters in there anyway.
Not long to go

Can't comment on le grange as we have never eaten there.

We have eaten at hunters grill twice but they were a few years ago now. There was always a nice selection of food especially deserts :goodvibes We found plaza gardens to have a good selection too. In 2011 we had the best meal of our trip in café mickey and the characters were great too. :goodvibes

Plaza Gardens buffet usually has something for everyone even the most fussy kid. In our view best value for money compared with other eateries, and not quite so 'fast food'.

Cafe Mickey was ok for the experience but would not go again.

Always a vote for plaza gardens here too,i always find they have a good selection of food and it's always nice and fresh and I think it is a good option with kids because they can try foods that they might not normally eat but not feel pressured into eating it if they dont like it.My dd tries a bit of everything and if she decided he doesn't like it then someone else in the party will always have it,but at least she tried it.We have only ate at billy bobs once and I wasent keen at all,oh is quite fussy and ended up just eating sausages because there was nothing else he would eat,so that was a very expensive meal!! Lol
Cafe mickey is always a must but in my experience I would say more for the characters than the food,we have never been overly impressed with it and the waiting times are awful but the character interaction does make up for it.
Restaurant des stars In the studios is good, although not a charecter restaurant the interaction with 'Remy' is very cool and always makes dd happy.

Actually we preferred the Rendezvous des stars to Plaza Gardens in 2010, didnt eat either last year, so be interested to see how they compare this time round :)

I'm so excited now!!

Thank you everybody for your feedback on our restaurant choices :)

I just can't wait to see the children's faces when we get there and I'm excited about staying in the Newport Bay hotel as we've only stayed in Santa Fe and hotel Cheyenne before.

I meant to say rendezvous des stars not restaurant des stars, stupid auto correct!!! Lol

Lol, Restaurant des stars does look good, we might pop in there for lunch on one of the days :)

I'm hoping with doing the buffet restaurants for dinner my 3 DS will find something they like to eat!!
My eldest two DS are 10 & 5 and pretty much eat anything it's only my youngest DS who is 2 and can get a little fussy depending on what sort of mood he's in lol

Hunter's Grill had really good food when we were there last month - good selection of starters (including some amazingly fresh prawns that were so good!) and mains, and lots and lots of dessert choices too. :)

I always think the buffet places are the best with kids because if they don't like what they have chosen they can just go and pick something else but in a normal ts restaurant how annoyed would you be if the kiddiwinks picked something because they "love it" then refuse to eat it when it comes, money down the drain and lots of unhappy faces in my experiance!! Lol
We all tried snails one year in plaza gardens, not something I will ever repeat again or my dd but my dad decided he quite liked them(he never was normal) and insists on them now every time we return.
I would quite like to try aggrabah cafe on our upcoming trip but I dont tend to see many reviews on it and I'm not sure what the selection of food is like and with oh and dd being fairly fussy Im Not sure if it's worth the risk??

I've seen lots of people on here say they love aggrabah cafe! I like the sound of the food that's on offer there but we are also traveling with my parent in laws and they are a bit more fussy about what they eat so that may be somewhere we visit on another trip :)

The reviews for Hunters Grill seem good and that it has a wider choice of food, we where going to try Parkside Diner but I read a lot of people saying Hunters grills buffet was bigger with more choice.

I'm getting very excited now! I've just been on the computer making an itinerary of what parks and rides we are going to do each day (depending on wait times) and also what time the parades and shows are on.
I like to be prepared lol

We ate in Parkside Diner one night and Hunter's Grill the next, and the food was very similar between the two. Hunter's Grill has in my opinion a nicer atmosphere though!

We will be there on Wednesday!
It's been so hard keeping it a secret from the kids!
I have to keep stopping myself from asking them if they are excited and what rides they will want to go on lol

Have a fantastic time - I keep asking DH exactly that - whether he is excited and what rides he wants to go on and we've got another 9 weeks to go!!

We've been to Café Mickey Billy Bob's and Plaza Gardens and loved all three.

We particularly liked Billy Bob's as we sat by a window over looking the village and the food was great and varied and it was a nice place to relax after a hectic day in the park. In fact your post has reminded me how much both DH and I loved Billy Bob's so we've decided to go back there - we went two years' ago so would love to hear what you think of it now.

Thank you :)
We are gonna pack tomorrow while the kids are at school then hide all the cases!
I will let you know what we think of billy bobs when we get back.

Really can't wait to see the kids faces when we get off the train and they realise where we are!! Hee hee

If you go via Eurostar then Mickey comes over the tanoy saying "its not long til we're in the magic" just as we are about to go aboard. Generally all the kids are running around with excitement at this point and DH says that its not just the little kids that get excited; this "big kid" gets excited too at hearing Mickey's voice!:rotfl2:

Nearly all packed just got to pick up some last minute bits tomorrow!

I can't decide if we should tell them as we get on the train or wait for them to hear Micky and realise that way :)

We leave at 3.30am on Wednesday so going to try and have an early night, but I know I'll be too excited to sleep!!

How exciting!:cheer2:

What about telling the kids that you are going to France - just don't tell them where in France. I think their faces would be a picture when Mickey comes over the tanoy. Altho when we go from Ebbsfleet there are loads of big cardboard photo's of Disney so they may start to guess from there??

Ouch - that is early but so worth it!:goodvibes I never manage to sleep for long the night before I go as I really am way too excited!!

Are you staying on-site?? If you are you can book a wake up call on the phone in your hotel room and the call is one of the characters like Mickey or Donald saying that it is time to get up!!

Thank you :)
