Hello! We are going back to Disney in Dec :woohoo: I was wanting some ideas on what to do with my 3 and 6 year old sons that would be fun and different? We are going for 10 days so open to all ideas. :thumbsup2

We are staying at OKW it will be 2DC, Grandma, DH and I.

TIA!!

Your 6 year old would probably like Disney Quest, but it will probably be a little over the 3 year old's head. It is a place filled with video games and interactive stuff.

My boys are 2 and 5, we went last October and spent sometime at fort wilderness, they LOVED it!!! We did the petting farm, took a ride on the pony. My oldest climbed a tree. They have a walking path from fort wilderness over to the wilderness lodge which was very quiet and down key, every single time we walked the path we saw wild deer!
It was wonderful.
I had a couple of hours with my oldest just him and I, we were going to head to the MK to do a few things and he requested we go back to fort wilderness again!!!!
MUST DO for us now!

Thanks! I didn't think of that my DS would love that!!! :cheer2:

Sorry for jumping into your thread, but I posted a similar question on another forum just this morning. My DS will be 6 by the time we go. Ft. Wilderness would be a great idea! What else for boys? It seems like there's a lot of cutesy stuff for girls, like BB Boutique & My Little Pony stuff a box thing & of course dressing up for character meals, which my DD will love, but I want to be sure to find a couple things just for DS, too. He LOVES animals & we'll of course spend time at AK & would like to tour AK Lodge as well. Anyone know anything about getting to tour the vet clinic/lab at AK? I saw it on TV.

More ideas, please!

I don't know all the details of this, but I think i read something here about a pirate cruise for kids, where they go on some adventure on a pirate boat....I'm sure there is info on it somewhere on the DIS or allears....

Perrier; To do the Vet thing at AK they have to be in their teens. =( I have not found many fun things for a 6 year old animal lover to do. I will let you know if I do. When are you going?

We're going Sept 9-16. Disappointed about the vet clinic thing. Oh well...

Thanks for keeping me in mind if you hear about any other neat activities for boys. I'll do the same. :thumbsup2

At Animal Kingdom we took the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch right after we did the Safari and the Africa animal trail. If I remember correctly, it opens a little after the rest of the park. Anyway, we had the whole place pretty much to ourselves. The kids (ages 5 and 3) were the only ones in the petting area. They also had the talking trash can all to themselves. They got to play with the Stanley and Rafiki characters FOREVER. We also got to see some minor vet procedures through the viewing window. I'd never read ANYTHING good about this area, but having it all to ourselves was a blast.

The 6-yr-old would probably love the Family Magic Tour, but our DS3 hated it so much I'd have a hard time recommending it for a kid under at least 4. He had just turned 3 and the games were over his head and he couldn't stand walking past all the rides without going on them- even though it was day 5 of our trip...

If you've never done Fantastic Plastics at Innoventions East (I think) it's very fun. You have a computerized robot race and then get to build your own FREE plastic robot to take home.

Probably my kids' favorite thing at any park was the interactive fountain in front of the Imagination pavillion at Epcot. We spent hours there. The kids chose to go back to Epcot our last night just to play in that fountain again.

Susykt4: That's it! Where was this at? Rafiki's Plant Watch? My son IS Stanley, so I can't wait for him to "meet" him!

Thanks!

Take the train (near the safari ride) to Rafiki's Planet watch you can only get there by train. Stanley is there and both times we have gone he has just been standing there without anyone around him. My DS2 had a blast looking at Denis with Stanley I recommend it.

Hi there! Just back from WDW with my boys (2.5 and 5). One thing they really loved was being "guest conductors" on the WDW train at the Magic Kingdom.

If you take a ride on the train, try to sit in the very back row. The conductor asked my boys if they would like to help her. They got to stand with her in the conductor's area, wear the special hat, and press buttons to make the automated announcements start. She was really nice about letting them take turns, and they both got to say "All Aboard" and "All Clear" over the loudspeaker. She presented them each with a conductor's license at the very end of our trip. They really loved this. In fact, they both claim that their favorite ride at Disney was the train! :)

Have a great trip!

Here's the info from Allearsnet: Grand Adventures for Children info Unfortunately the Pirate Cruise is for ages 4-12. :( My ds, pirate: who just turned 3, would love it - he's really into pirates right now...

We also did that on our last trip!
That was another favorite of my DS then 4!
I was worried about sending him by himself, but it is Disney, and I knew he would love it.
They now have 3 pirate cruises. One from GF, one from BC and I forget about the third.
The GF is the one we did last October, they get pirate bandanas with ears on them and have such fun.
We are all signed up for the BC one this October, I guess they go into Epcot before the countries open.

There is also a tea party with the Mad Hatter at GF. I know that sounds a bit girly but I am sending my 2 boys this year because they take 3 year olds, and my youngest will be 3........Daddy and I get lunch along together, really? can you believe it?? I almost cant!!!!

OH also, from the marinas, do the mouse boats, they are such fun!
Especially, we like to do it on the first half of day there, we take the boat out, and look at the castle, gets everyone excited for the next day! The first day, we never hit a park
I will try to think of some more.

I don't think I saw this mentioned:

"And young adventurers can pretend to sail the high seas and hoist the Jolly Roger in the new, interactive Adventure Room in World of Disney. Young heroes and heroines can fill treasure chests and skulls with pirate plunder, create their own seafaring hat and interact with a new pirate named Rusty Blade."

Got it here:

Sounds very cool!! pirate:

my ds6 liked Legoland in DTD. :cool1:
We did have to keep him away from anything with video games because he would be to fixated on it and never wanted to leave the game.
He liked Mickey philharmonic in MK 3-D show a lot. Splash Mountian was his favorite ride.
:teeth:
There's some great ideas on this thread!
He also liked having his own fanny pack and money! :lmao:
