3/5/09 - March 5, 2009 - 3 night Wonder--anyone?

OK the thread idea is awesome, but there isn't a link for this date. I gotta believe there are others on this cruise. Especially with the new 'kids free' announcement. That's why we're on it!!!

This will be our 3rd DCL cruise (4/07-4-night wonder, 5/08-7-night western). We also have 10/31/09-7-night western booked, but when I saw this one and the rate I decided I didn't want to wait 11 more months... It's gonna be SUCH A TEASE to be on the ship for that short a time! But at least we get to see the new Toy Story show (although we LOVED the Hercules show) and hopefully we'll get the same server we had last time (we requested him). Right now we have a GTY Cat 12 that the travel agent assures me will be upgraded My last two were Cat 6, but I"m thinkin' I don't need a Verandah for a 3-nighter.

So...who else is joining us?

Originally it was just me (single mom) and my 3 1/2 year-old. But, since DCL came out with the new deal, I basically added a friend to our cabin for $37.48. Couldn't beat that!

It's my second time on the Wonder. First was 12/04 on a 4-night cruise. I guess *technically* my son was along on that trip. My friend has cruised, but never Disney.

We're staying for 4 nights at AKL pre-cruise.

We are also in a Cat 12.

AWESOME! Glad to see I'm really not sailing alone. (ha ha).

It is killing me not to jump up and down to my husband and kids. I created an envelope with the information in it for my hubby to open on Saturday (when we do the Christmas thing at my in-laws house). I am thinking about not saying anythning to the kids until we get there. Since we got off the ship last May, my daughter has been asking when we're going back (ok, yeah, they're a little spoiled...but it's totally my fault). I'm just really excited that even though I think it's gonna be a major tease, that we get to be on the ship again before 10/31/09...

My DH Jason 34, Stacy (That's me) DW 31 My DS Grant 6 and DD Payton 4 will be joining you for the March 5th cruise. We will be flying out of Kansas City and after the cruise will be staying for four days at the Coronado Springs Resort. This is our first cruise with disney.

AWESOME! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. You're gonna hate how quickly it goes. If you are even remotely thinking about re-booking...do it while on the ship. Go to one of the computers to check out prices ahead of time, but you get a discount to rebook onboard and sometimes a shipboard credit. Even if you decide later on not to go, you've secured the discount while on board! This will be our 3rd cruise on DCL and we have one scheduled for Halloween 09...Needless to say, we LOVE IT!!!

I am also sailing on March 5, 2009. I will be traveling with my two daughters, 10 and 5 as well as my niece who is 2. I am so psyched. Not only is this my first Disney cruise. It is my first cruise ever. My daughters have no idea they are going. Up to now I have told them that I am going but won't be able to take them because they have to go to school. They were not happy with me. I ordered the Disney Cruise DVD and wrapped it up as a Christmas present for them. They are going to be sooooo happy. I can hardly wait, so I can imagine what they will be like for the next few months.

Did you tell the girls over Christmas that they are also going on a Disney Cruise. I bet they are sooooo excited. I wish that I had made ours a secret because for the last year I have been hearing "When are we going on our cruise?" Are you arriving the day of your cruise or prior to that?

Yes, they know they are going on the cruise but are expecting to leave a week later than we actually leave. So they will be surprised again when we pull up to the boat. They have watched the DVD, made some plans about going to their "kids' clubs" without me, and have been quick to remind me that I can't join them. We actually live in Miami and are driving up the day of the trip. Can't wait

Sounds great! Ours just know that there is a surprise awaiting them for their birthday,... Of course when you're five (going on six), not knowing what a surprise is is just devastating!

Is there anyway that you can send a message to have our thread hooked onto a link so that other people can find it easier. I tried but I have not made enough posts to get this done. I think that all of us would be able to communicate better if it was hooked to the link. I hope that this makes sense.

We have changed our plans of staying at coronado springs resort after our cruise and are going to stay at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on international drive. We are also going to rent a car for the entire week. We are staying at the country inn & suites in port canaveral the night before the cruise. I booked it through priceline and total with taxes was 68.00 which I thought wasn't bad. I am getting very excited about our vacation now that it is getting closer.

Thank you. When I go to the wonder 2009 dates March 5th is there with no link. When you wrote that you made a link will it take a few days to be done or am I just missing it. If I am completely missing the boat just let me know. I will not be offended.

I hope that we don't miss the boat, since we are going in March I am praying that we will avoid any large snow storms, ice, ect. I don't enjoy flying so I really would like a perfectly clear sky with no wind or birds. I am becoming more and more excited each day. Dawn, is the cruise still a suprise for the kids?

Has anyone who booked a GTY room received their cabin assignments yet? I know that thirty days is pretty standard but I was hoping that since there are no more rooms available for four people that maybe they would at least give us our cabin numbers. Don't they know that I am checking my computer daily. Okay maybe more than once a day. I am not expecting to be upgraded more than to a category 11 because with the kids are free promo I think that they were able to book up some of their better cabins.

Yes, it's still a surprise. Not planning on telling them until we actually get there. We're in Disney so much they'll probably just think we're going back to Disney.

I also have a GTY stateroom...cat 12. The TA assures me that I have to be upgraded because they can't fit 4 people in a cat 12. I was sort of scratching my head as to how they let me even book that category. I know Cat 7 (the navigator verandah's for example) are NEVER available to me because of the 4 thing). I also am really anal and check almost every day. If you see something before me, let me know!

Last time I looked, there was only cat 4 & 5 left for 4 people...but that was a couple weeks ago. VVEERRRYYY interesting!

I just talked to DCL and they said that for GTY staterooms, we may not find out until we actually board the ship depending on how the ship handles. I'm wondering if that will be the case considering this now looks like a full ship...

Guess time will tell. Gettin' excited though!

Oh...and have we talked about getting together that first day on the ship? Like 3pm...before the drill?

We're booked in a Cat 12 with no assignments as of yet

I noticed there are a couple 5-6 year old princesses coming along and would love to get together so my usually "slow to warm" DD can hang out with a familiar face in the kids club.
