3/13/09 Construction Update w/ a few photos

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The air horn or the push bumper work well here... :rotfl: the lights and siren gives them something to tell their kids to look at.. "Hey kids, Look the Nice Police Man behind us showing you his pretty lights. Aint that nice of him?"

They use their rear-view mirrors in Pa ? :confused3

FYI...my folks were at the Fort this afternoon and they just sent me a few photos from the 600 loop. Looks like they just poured the concrete for all the new sites in the loop! The road is still dirt, but you can now see each new site!

Photos ??? A few photos ??? popcorn::

I would post the pictures (there's just 2), but I don't think I have enough posts on this board to do it. Even if I did, I have no idea how!

I just got another picture taken of the water slide this afternoon. The concrete was poured under the slide and although the angle of the picture is not the greatest, part of the platform is up at the top of the slide. It looks like it was that big platform that TCD had pictures of them building on the ground.

I am so excited to see it all. Hope it's all done by the end of May. First trip to the fort and definately not the last. Staying at the cabins. Told DH if he doesn't lose his job at GM, we need to at least by a pop up or something, that way we can bring the dog.

Nikkipowell1, if you want to bring the dog you need to get a hard-sided trailer... pets are not allowed in tents or pop-ups. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying the rules don't allow it. Here's hoping your DH's job is secure!

More info on pets at the fort.

A clip from the pet section.

Specific areas of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have been made available to Guests with pets. These are full hook-up campsites. There is a $5.00 per day pet charge. (This is a per day, per site charge only, not per pet.) Sorry, Guests in tents and pop-up campers may not keep pets at their site - they must be kenneled.

Rest assured if you are camping in a tent or pop up you can bring your pet to the site. I have spoken to FW Cast Members several times and they state that the statement should be that pets can not be left unattended in a tent or pop up. If you have any questions regarding this give the reception outpost a call at 407-824-2735.

Thanks for the info on the pets, but it will be a new driveway, roof, bathroom remodels, credit card pay offs, before we even think about getting a pop up.

Hi everyone,
first time posting , will give you some info since I have an intimate knowledge of what is going on with the pool. First the mysterious pink flags (sorry to say)aren't that mysterious, they just ran out of red and green flags. The pool is supposed to be open by the the 10th of April. Please don't blame the construction guys for it taking so long. One poster complained that Disney wasn't going to spend the money for a childrens area and when the money finally came through of course it would take a little longer to complete. Everyone is working six days a week so that you'll be able to enjoy the new pool very soon! Wish we could be there too.

Thanks for the update! "Inside info" is always appreciated. :thumbsup2

First, WELCOME to The Dis.

Second, Love the reason for the pink flags. :lmao:

Bubb- Welcome to the Disboards!

So, you have inside info? Well, let's hear some of it!!!!

I don't care why the flags are pink, I want to know what they are marking.

Also, what is being done to the arcade building?

Your prediction about the completion date sounds right to me. The latest from management is "mid-April." Opening the pool Easter weekend will allow the suits to claim that the pool was done early (i.e. before "mid-April"); notwithstanding the fact that the pool was supposed to be done in mid-March. Sounds right to me.

Bubb- You had better reply, now. Deb is on to you!

And Deb, couldn't 900 possibly be next?

Not sure on that one. They installed cable in 900 in December. I thought that was all that was going to be done to it. If they do upgrade 900, that means only 2 loops would remain as full hook up, huh? "Mean Moe" aka "Mean Woody" aka "Mean John" (the guy who replaced "Mean Gene") AND John at the Front Desk both told me that 1600 & 1900 would be left as full hook-up. So.... if 1600 thru 1900 all have cable, all are regular sites, what makes 1700 & 1800 preferred loops? It's all a mystery to me!! :rotfl:

Is there anyone at the Fort now that can give us an update on the 600 expansion or the 700 upgrade? I would think they would be getting close on getting the 600 loop done but sure would like an update. Some pics would be great.

Anybody??:confused3:confused3

TCD, thanks for all the great pics! I think the pool upgrade may be nicer than we expected. I am getting excited about our next trip in 2 years july 4, with our then 3 1/2 year old grandaughter having a blast at the pool, the playgrounds, the campfire program and the beach.:woohoo:

I was there last week. The green fence was taken down around the 600 loop and long days were being put in to plant trees and bushes. The sidewalk in front was being filled with cement. We walked by 700 every day and there definitely seemed to be a lot of work going on there as well. We were right across from the 600 loop (874) so we were more aware of the work being done there.
