Our children have a fall break the second week in October (October 11-16). Wondering how the crowds are this time of year and if any discounts are currently available? TIA for the info...

We went Oct 13-18 last year and the crowds were fine. We had very little wait time on almost all of the rides - probably no more than 5 - 10 minutes! (We didn't do any of the "mountain" rides - DD doesn't care for them).

The weather was really nice - kind of warm the first couple of days and then it got really cool the last few days we were there.

I don't really recall any big discounts - we stayed at the All Star Movies I think for about $75/night.

Have a great trip!

We went Oct 7-12 in 2002. Wasn't very crowded at all. Didn't wait long for rides, if we waited at all. It was HOT to me though. One of the CM's said that it was the hittest Oct in several years.

I think it's a wonderful time to go!

We have been there many times during the holiday weekend and MK is usually a little more crowded but overall, we have had great experiences with there being very managealbe crowds.

Thanks, Just what I want to hear!

Dixiegirl-looks like we will be there the same time.
Are you going to MNSSHP?

Thank you for the info on Columbus Day weekend. I've been wondering what to expect crowd wise. This will be our grandson's first WDW visit. We're doing MNSSHP on the 8th. Thanks again for the info.

We stayed there during Columbus Week last year. It was more crowded than I expected after Columbus Day, I thought everyone would go home after monday, (well, not everyone lol). Nope, due to the fall breaks there was almost as many people still there. It was managable, but we picked that time to avoid crowds, yet still go to MNSSHP. In the fure, if I was looking to go during a slow time, I wouldn't pick October. But I won't avoid it either, since I loved MNSSHP and the crowds weren't as bad as summer (or the 2 biggest weeks, Christmas-NewYear's and Easter).

Have fun!
Lori

October was typically a slow time, but has increased in the last few years. It is not like summer or holidays by any means but has increased. We have been going for the last 4 years in October. 4 years ago it was really nice, a walk on every ride. Then of course there was 9/11 and the parks were empty that year in October, but the last 2 years have been much more crowded. I think with the fact that they have been having more MNSSHP's scheduled throughout the month and the Food and Wine Festival starts that month. I know last year while I was having a conversation with people in lines or by the pool I had more than one person complain to me that they thought it was supose to be a slow time? I think when some people hear that it is a slower time, they think that no one will be there but them. It is still a wonderful time of year to go, the weather is great and crowds are moderate.
