Day 10 (Dec 12th)
Bad weather is forecast for today for the afternoon and evening - fingers crossed as it's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tonight !!
Skipped breakfast again and went off to Islands of Adventure for the day. Coffee and croissants when we arrived. It was dry but overcast and chilly so what did we do ?? - Of course, we headed straight for the water rides !!!!!! Bought ponchos (something I never thought I would do) and then went on the Bilge Rat Barges. No queue at all - hardly surprising! Had a great ride and still got wet under the poncho. Walked across and on to Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw falls and got wet on that too! Wandered around to Seuss Landing as it's our favourite part of the park. Watched the Whobilation show which was brilliant - the Grinch was superb. Straight into the Grinch's Lair afterwards to meet the despicable one! Walked up past the talking fountain but didn't stop as there were too many people there. Went into Poseidon's Adventure as we missed this in 2000 as DD was too scared to go in. I really enjoyed the build up but felt the actual fire and water battle was a bit tame - The water vortex was my favourite part. On into Jurrasic Park for lunch and as we came out the rain started - good old Florida weather forecasters - dead right again (DAMN!!) Left early as it really fell down for a while. Walked round to HRH to check out the room rates - as we fancy a night there sometime - $199 was the cheapest.
Drove to Downtown Disney as the kids wanted to buy some cuddlies. Jack got a Donald Duck and Chloe a large Eeyore. Also bought some pictures of Lion King and Disney Villains for ourselves.
Back to the hotel for a quick change ahead of MVMCP. Prayed for the rain to stop all the way to MK.
Met DW's niece and boyfriend (Jenny and Rob) outside. The rain now gets heavier and the thunder starts!!!!
Ponchos on and we walk around in the downpour. The first parade is cancelled so we decide to call it a night. Into City Hall and they say we can re-book our tickets for next Tuesday as Friday is sold out. Poor Jenny and Rob are going home Saturday so they will not get to see MVMCP and will have to write to Disney for a refund.
Terrible drive back to the hotel as I couldn't see a thing out of the windscreen! Dropped Jenny and Rob off at the Howard Johnson on our way.
