So I've been "married" since 2006 to my partner. With the new law in california I figured we'd get married here, but we haven't gotten around to discussing too much about it. Well today inside the haunted mansion she proposed to me LOL. I proposed to her for the first wedding, so it was fitting that she did it this time on our absolutely favorite ride.

Just thought I would share that bit of cuteness, there are photos in my blog.

Also, we went to the blue bayou for lunch afterwards, and they do the whole split plate fee. Before they would give each person a full separate salad and sides from what I remember. But now they actually split the salad and the side in half. So I guess you're paying the $5 for them to portion it and put them on different plates?

Haunted Mansion? How romantic.... J/K... Congratulations! Where were you "married" before? Mass?

It was fairly romantic because of the way she proposed and we are also in love with that ride, so it was unique and un-boring.

We had a commitment ceremony in northern california. So it wasn't legal, but to us it was our wedding.

It's actually kind of funny because I read that on Saturday and showed her and was all, "oh my goodness that is one of the cutest engagement stories I have ever heard." And she started to get worried that I was onto her plans lol.

Hahahaha !!! How funny :) Well good thing you didn't because it must have been a wonderful and romantic surprise !!

How sweet and romantic for waiting to propose until you were on the ride you both like the best. :cloud9:

Congratulations! Will it be a Disney wedding?

Did you talk to them about it? We had a convo with the server in late May, asking about things like that, and she stated that it is the restaurant's policy to give entire salads and sides, but sometimes they'll get a rogue server who won't do that. So was it a rogue server, or a new policy?

I am really happy you liked it and was suprised

uhh... 999 ;). Can you guys get married in DL now? That would be cool. I wonder since it became legal if DL allows gay marriages to take place on property?

I added the extra 9!

DLR and WDW welcomed gay couples to have commitment ceremonies, so now that it is legal in CA, legally they would extend the same rights for gay couples to wed as well. :thumbsup2
