2nd place baby

omg so yesterday night cy-creek's colorguard(which im in) went to oak ridge high school to perform our show "two step" all of the guard memebers thought it was a sixth place or seventh place run. .but the judges didn't think that. .Anyways were sitting in the auditorium of oak ridge high school when the anouncer started calling out the places. There were 14 guards in our class. .and every place the anouncer called we expected them to say our name with that place but they kept going lower and lower until we realized omg were in the top 3 and when they said the third place team we knew we were either first or second. .WE GOT SECOND PLACE!!!! omg we were so excited and we cant wait til our state competition which is in two weeks!!!

Okay I'll try my best 2 explain it but colorguard is like flag core and you are with the band and move flags along w/ the music. It's SOOO much fun and next week is our tryouts... . If anyone else can explain it better so ahead though!!!

Color Guard, a sport or an art? Actually, it is a combination of the two. The members are trained like athletes, but perform as artists.

Colorguard started when someone realized that the combination of military drill(marching) and the use of their flags, sabres, and rifles had potential to be an awesome sight. Over the years men and woman of all ages have started to loosen their bodies and incorporate dance into a "show". During the winter months and into spring performers and instructors create shows, and compete as a Winterguard. Shows are put to music, and performers combine their bodies, facial expression, equipment(Flags, rifles, and sabres), and minimal props to create a show. The shows are meticulously picked over, and made "clean"(put together) with the help of talented performers, and dedicated instructors.
