Has anyone had experience with the 2nd showing of MSEP? I hear it's more manageable crowd wise but wanted to hear some first hand experiences. How long did you have to camp out for spots?

We haven't tried camping out for the second parade, but we've seen people start holding curb spots right after the fireworks crowds begin leaving. If you don't have to be seated on the curb, your wait time will be shorter.

I did the 2nd showing the first weekend. Watched fireworks, then immediately grabbed a spot, second row behind a few kids. Better than waiting 3 or 4 hours or more for a good spot.

We don't even bother trying to watch the first parade when there's 2. The second one is SO much less crowded. When we were there in December, we easily found a curb seat 5 minutes before parade started and there were still spots available after parade started. Definitely worth it in my book

We did the second one last Saturday. We went to Plaza Inn for dinner, heard the first parade go by. As soon as it passed we went out to Main Street to join the crowd for the fireworks. Towards the end of the fireworks, people were moving towards the curbs and as soon as fireworks were over and we were allowed to sit down, we did. Seemed like the whole Main Street area curbs were filled at that point (first row anyway). Plenty of people came up to stand behind a little later. Definitely not as long a wait as for the first one. Fireworks were at 9:30 and second parade was at 10:30, I think.

I can tell you from last weekend that BOTH parades were likely at capacity. Keep in my md the Friday before it was rained out so it could have attributed to this also. We originally had BB MSEP dining package reservations for Friday but were able to change over to Saturday. We found out that those who were rained out the night previously could also attend which was great I felt. I will say as it was about 15-20 minutes before the first parade an announcement came in that " All VIEWING areas for MSEP are currently full. We apologize for any inconvenience ", so leaving during the second parade it was JUST AS BUSY.

People were camping spots for the first one 3-4 hours ahead. I wouldn't count on the second showing being any less busy especially as the spring break season approaches.
