This will be DD's first visit to Disney and mine and DH's 2nd time, although we didnt do any character meals the first time around since it was just us. I did a few when I was younger with my parents but dont remember a ton about them except that I know we ate at Chef Mickeys.

So anyway, here is what I have planned for now but i'm really 2nd guessing things. Also I miscalculated the number of meals we have so if I keep all of these as is we will have to pay for one of them out of pocket. Keeping that in mind, any suggestions on what I should leave as is or what I should try to change? What is the best meal to pay vs our DP?

Arrive Sunday early morning
Sunday evening Dinner at 1900 PF 6pm
Monday - Hollywood and Vine 10am (this is probably a must because DD is Jake obsessed)
Tuesday (dd's 4th bday) Dinner at CRT
Wednesday - breakfast at Crystal Palace - 9am
Thursday - lunch at Tusker House 2:30pm
Friday - open - flight is leaving around 9pm

thanks so much in advance! I felt like I had it all organized but now i'm freaking out!

DD and I loved the character interaction at 1900PF...so, my vote is to keep it! I've never done CRT, but I'd also keep that...I think your DD will love it! My "children" are older, so I really can't give an opinion about Hollywood and Vine (I don't even know who Jake is):confused3 I would also keep the breakfast at CP (a must-do for us even though our family is older). We've never been to Tusker House, but it comes out to be the least expensive of your options, so if you pay OOP, I'd do that one. All your choices seem to be fine for your young family. Since this trip is all about your DDs birthday, stop stressing yourself and go and enjoy seeing her face light up :thumbsup2

I would actually keep all of them and pay out of pocket for Hollywood & Vine. CRT is not a huge favorite of mine but some people really love it. We find the sit down meal is a welcome break for our children so they don't get too over stimulated. Have a wonderful trip!

Just relax and get ready to have a great time! I say this, but I'm already fretting about the ADRs I made for this summer. Why do we do this? When you're this close to your trip, I don't know that you could make many changes anyway (unless it was just a cancellation). You've made good choices, though, so just get ready for your fun. Hope your daughter has a great birthday!

Do keep Holly & Vine breakfast. The food is average at best, but the character interaction there is wonderful. We've done it twice and would do it again for kiddos who are into those characters.

One thing you may want to think about is that most of your ADRs are buffets. If you like buffets, then you will enjoy them. If you don't, you may want to consider changing Crystal Palace or Tusker House. But I think you will love it regardless!

Have a great time and try not to stress. I keep changing mine too. I'm going to be there as well next week, but I know that all the places we have are going to be great bc we are going to be at the Mouse!!

You've obviously selected all of your ADRs primarily for your DDs sake. So just stick with them. Next time perhaps you can reduce the character meals to just a couple, and opt for more a la carte meals. For now, find out which meal is the least expensive and pay OOP for it.

I forgot to mention for the OOP meal, I'd take a look at allears and see what looks like is going to be the cheapest. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I know I shouldn't stress about it because i'm sure she will have a good time regardless. I just really want it to be perfect ya know? I don't mind buffets and she is kind of a picky eater so they tend to work well for us.

Are there any character meals that aren't buffet?

I just wanted her to get to see as many characters as possible without having to always stop or wait in a line since this is her first time.

oh and @ sleeperclan, Jake and the Neverland Pirates ... its a newer cartoon on Disney Jr and from what I understand options to see Jake are pretty limited

I'd keep them all as well! Have tried all but H&V. My kids really enjoyed them too.....I've been planning our trip for Oct. 2012, when asked the kids which places they wanted to return to, they named all of the above. They liked Tuskerhouse food, CRT princesses (my 2 boys liked that they got swords), Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare characters.

It looks like you will have 5 TS credits each but as CRT is 2 credits, you'll be 1 TS credit short per person, right? Also, you'll have 5 CS credits each but could actually use 6 as I don't see any daytime meals for Sunday or anything at all for Friday, so you'll need to pay OOP somewhere along the way for these meals, also (assuming you are doing the basic DDP, not DxDDP).

If you are serious about trying to save some money, I'd suggest canceling 1900 PF. The stepmother and sisters scare some kids, and the main attractions here are Cinderella and Prince Charming, and you'll see them at CRT on DD's birthday.

It looks like you have almost all the characters covered; let's hope DD isn't freaked out by them...

There are a few character meals that aren't buffet, but not many that I can recall. I know Garden Grill and CRT are two. I am not sure if there are any more than that or not??

I fully planned on paying for a few of our meals off plan. I was trying to plan that into when I booked times. Like with CP i planned late enough that we wont really be hungry for lunch but early enough that a poptart would hold dd over. Same with Tuskerhouse and H&V. I was hoping that would help cut down on how many other meals we pay for. I really wish they would count the number of meals based on your tickets and not nights stayed.

eta... at 1900 the part dd is looking forward to most are the stepsisters and the "mean mother" as she calls pretty well every stepmother/evil queen in the Disney stories. She LOVES them so i hope they arent too scary for her!
