I was looking at this event since there is no Party for the Senses the first Saturday in October which is, of course, the only time I can get away this year - I fly home Saturday 10/8. Did any of you attend last year, and what did you think of it? Is anyone attending this year? It looks like the price has risen ($74 including tax and handling fees) and the beverage seminars are no longer included in the price. It looks worthwhile but I'd like some opinions before I make up my mind. Thanks in advance for any replies! :goodvibes

We are attending but purchasing individual tickets at the event. We're having an early dinner and then planning to go over and just sample a few things.

Yes. I attended the 1st one last year. I thought it was a very good event, but the price (as a package) was cheaper last year for sure. I went b/c the room/event bundle was a great deal. This year, the price has went up for sure. As you noted, the package does not include one of the seminars this year.

Last year, I thought the event was a great alternative to PFTS, and it occurs over two nights, for those who can't make the PFTS on a Saturday. Food was excellent. Wine and beer offerings pretty good. Cocktail portion was the weakest part, but there is always room somewhere for improvement. Having attended 2 previous PFTS's, I though the S&D Classic was a good value, for a smaller event.

All that being said, yes, I am going again this year. Have the package again, but at a noticeably higher cost. Package includes the unlimited wristband. Not sure if it is such a good value if someone were buying individual tickets for the various stations. If they worked out some of the kinks from last year, I still think this will be a good event at a fair price. Won't know for sure til I get there. Looking forward to it.

PM me if you need more detailed info on last year's event.

Do you remember the general cost of individual ticket from last year. I'm sure it's not the best deal but dbf doesn't drink so we thought the wristband may not be the best idea.

Last year, I recall the individual tickets being $2 each, or a book of 25 for $45 maybe?? Considering the Shula's filet station last year alone was 5 tickets (which was still only $10 for a 4 oz Shula's cut filet with a small side of cream spinach), that makes for some 'expensive' sampling, even assuming 2-3 tickets avg per sample. If you can find this years lineup on the S&D site, you might be able to back into the tickets needed from last year (there is some info out on the web from last year). With a full meal beforehand, you may be fine with just tickets. Since the event is my dinner, it only makes sense for me to be using the wristband. Call it my own version of the dining plan.....:thumbsup2

Thanks so much. Of course, I'm expecting it to be slightly more expensive than last year. I personally couldn't justify $74 at ticket, when I'm paying just about that for the dxdp for a day. But that is just my opinion, I know a ton of people going this year and getting the wristband. I am very excited to try some of the more interesting things though! I can't wait! I know there are a lot of dis'ers going on the 7th. Hope to meet some new people!:cool1:

Thanks, everyone, I think I will give it a try. :goodvibes

Cool. There were quite a few of us last year on Saturday night. Is there a list anywhere of who is going this year? I haven't seen the posting anywhere yet.

Just from talking to people mostly on the podcast board and chat, I know alot are going the 7th but maybe start a thread to see who is going when. I know Corey from the podcast said he is going the 7th, and several others.
