We're new SSR owners and I'm going to call tomorrow to try and book 5 nights in a 2BR for Oct 2008. Any ideas on what our chances will be? We're still before the 7mo booking window of non SSR members...

Thanks!

You should been fine. But even SSR can be hard to get for Oct.if you wait to long.

I think that this far out you should not have a problem. If a day is not available, just waitlist it.

Shouldn't be a problem, I actually just changed from a 1 Bedroom to 2 Bedroom over Thanksgiving without a problem and got a dedicated....have to love SSR for that reason, not fighting for rooms like some of the others.

Ok thanks everyone! I'm going to call member services tomorrow.
Along the same lines - my UY is December, so in Dec 2008 my 120 pts become available. I'm borrowing 2008 (120) and probably going to borrow some 2009 pts to be able to book 5 nights.
We don't plan on going again until 2010, so I assume I can wait until 2009 to bank the left over 2009 points? Then in 2010 I can use those and borrow some if it's before Dec 2010?
Am I correct that there isn't any penalty for borrowing pts?

Thanks everyone for the info! I've got a 2BR for 4 nights at SSR booked from Oct 12 - 16th 2008. Borrowed 120 pts from Dec UY.
Now, the CSR said that we could try and switch into OKW and stay for 5 nights during the same time frame, he suggested calling day by day and switching the reservations.
Any thoughts on this? It would be a bit of a hassle to have part of the week in SSR and the other part in OKW.
How does SSR compare to OKW?

Thanks!!!

So, you can get 5 nights at OKW for the same number of points, and you want to go for the extra night? I would wait until I can book all at once and waitlist if you have to for the whole stay. Call exactly at 7 months.

SSR is newer, OKW has mature vegetation, both are "park by your villa" type of resort. SSR has elevators in every building, and OKW only has 3 buildings with elevators. SSR has standard size rooms, OKW's rooms are very very spacious.

Congratulations and Welcome Home!!
