Anyone know if it is possible to reserve a "lock off" unit at SSR? We are starting off in a 1BR for 1 night Dec 21st, then our kids are coming down for 3 nights (2BR) Dec 22 leaving the 25th, then we are staying for an addl night Dec 25th (1BR). The last time DH called member services they said they would try to put us in a lock off so we didnt have to keep moving. Is this something that should show on our reservation confirmation? Or are all the 2BRs at SSR lock offs anyway?

Even reserving a lockoff will not guarantee you can stay put the entire trip. But having a dedicated 2 BR will guarantee a move for the 1 BR portion. I'd say you chances of staying in the same unit are about 90% if you do it right and no more than 50% if you just leave it up to chance.

It is possible to request a lock off as this is what we did for our trip in Jan.

About 2 months prior we thought we would like to change it to a dedicated, called MS and they said all the dedicateds were reserved but would put us on a wait list.

The wait list never came through and we got the lock-off (which turned out to be wonderful)

As for changing rooms from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, not sure how that would work.

You should call MS and put the lock-off request on your reservation.

Have fun

You can request a lock-off, but there is no guarantee that the studio adjoined to your room will be vacant on the days you need that part for your kids.

Make sure you speak to someone that will note your request on your reservation. When I wanted to request a lock-off, MS told me this was not possible. Then when we checked in we were told that we should have requested a lock-off when we made our reservations because none were available at that time. So keep calling back until you talk to someone that puts your request on your reservation.

But I really think your bigger problem is whether or not the studio next to you will even be available when you need it. My bet is you will have to move at least once.
