....................

Yes! This just happened to us a week ago. Jordan wants baby born. This doll eats and drinks and wets but (this is gross) you have to HELP it digest the food so it can POOP!

I am all for baby dolls and what not but this is over the top.

She is all through stewing I told her why it was not coming into the house...and to not DARE ask nana and papa to get it for her.

Last Christmas DS wanted a Hot Wheels type things where cars land in a slime pit. All I could think about was the mess. He asked on and off for a week or so and then he forgot all about it.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

YES Cam is learning not to even ASK for some things. lol

we dont allow any violent toys in the house at all no guns play swords etc. (I know I know but that's a whole other debate)
He doesnt ask for those anymore he was never real hot on them in the first place thankfully. His friend really is though. He asked for some Satr wars stuff when he wsa 4 I thought that was a little young and told him no. He deals pretty well with it actually.

DD wanted Barbie Karaoke. No way was I going to have that in the house. She has asked a couple more times, I think to make sure, but has let it drop. There's too much stuff out there for kids not to find a new favorite before too long.

Our sons deals with No as well. I can't remember the exact thing it was, but we dont' do guns, mature video games, (rated T or higher), anything faddish (ie, Pokemon Yu gi Oh cards, etc...), or stuff that is flimsy.

Our daughter sometimes asks for things, and we say no as well.

I've told my daughter that she could not have a couple of things. When she was younger it was My size Barbie. It was just too expensive. Now, it's roller blades. We have a pair of roller blade, her brother's that he never uses and she can use anytime she wants. I think that it is stupid to get something that we already have and she won't use very often. I have enought stuff gathering dust that I don't need more.

YES!!

The kids have been bugging us for a Nintendo or Sega. We must be the only family in the USA without one of these. We have been saying NO. We don't need our TV being tied up with these contraptions. And the kids get plenty of "games" with their Gameboys.

Feel your pain BR....my stepdaughter wanted a cell phone last year....we got her a Colgate cell phone toothbrush!

When DS was much younger (he's 8 now) we told him that Santa uses his list as a go by, and that he wouldn't ever get everything that was on the list. It's worked so far. :)

Thankfully, he's never asked for anything that we think is inappropriate.

When my son was 6 he wanted the Star Wars Millenium Falcon. Although the cost was what initially put me off I did feel he was too young to take proper care of it. Because he was always borrowing our CD player we bought him one of his own. He has taken great care of it and plays it all the time. The following year though he started back on about the Millenium Falcon, this time we gave in - he was really into Star Wars by then - and although he has taken care of it he hardly plays with it really, so, to this day I don't know whether or not we really should have gotten it. Kids!!!

All the time, the big one that stands out are those huge battery operated vehicles. My feeling is that if you are outside playing you should be exercising you legs on a bike. They now want all terrain vehicles - hahaha! All three want televisions in their room and that is a big fat NO too. I have no problem saying no if I don't think something they want is appropriate.

:D I was thinking of a calculator that looks like a flip phone!

My daughter's make a list to give to santa. It's got everything they could dream up. They have all kinds of things on that list from inexpensive stuff on up. They don't get to choose what's gotten off that list.
