I am looking at a prime only set up for my next trip and was wondering would you go with a 28 or a 20 mm lens as your wide prime? I will have the 10-17 fisheye for my extreme wide shots
My initial reaction is to say take the 28, but what are the maximum apertures for your two choices? If one can let in significantly more light than the other, I'd take it. If they're roughly the same, then I'd probably go for the 28. Presuming, of course, that each is near enough to the same quality.
Yeah, I'd go that route too (I also have a 30mm prime). 28mm on a crop is like 42-45 on FF. Thats about the same focal length the human eye see's. 50mm for MANY years was the standard kit/walk around lens on 35mm slr's.
I was forced to use the 30mm for just about the entire day/night at EPCOT last year after the front lens element fell off my 18-135mm. It was easy using the 30mm. I had to look more at composition, but that was ok. Only a little bit of foot zoom here and there. I only missed the real long focal length for about 5 shots.
Both of them are 2.8 max apperature, I have a 35 mm thats a f2 but that is a gap between the 17 and 35. still trying to figure it out was hoping to do a light weight kit. Any suggestions for kit with whats listed below will be looked at.
