Plenty of anniversaries here, and nothing silly about it!
None of us 'kids' have kids, so on our 4/11/13 Disney Dream, we had 7 adults to celebrate with Mom & Dad for their 45th anniversary in a few months and our 10th anniversary in a few weeks.
We are like you, we don't need the boozey cruisies that we are so over (many times been there, done that) and don't care for thongs on the main stage either or casinos.
Everything you love about the parks is transferred to cruising in it's own way. Just like you see many honeymooners/anniversaries in the parks (because there is SO much to offer from thrill rides to amazing dining experiences etc), that is how it is on the ships.
And anyway,
Royal Caribbean & Carnival both have as many kids as the DC ships do. At least these ones are such cute princesses and lil peter pans and pirates. I enjoyed almost all of them sincerely! The emphasis is on families and G-PG rated entertainment, which is FINE for us! There are adult only areas (but we didn't do much there, because we had a veranda of our own!) and we chose late dining seating, which we will always choose from here on out, as it is very relaxed and tends to have less lil ones anyway.
It is a SUPERB experience. I still carry my
DCL Happy Anniversary with Mickey & Minnie celebration pin on my purse.
In fact, next year's anniversaries might get booked here soon for the Disney Magic...
Nothing silly about it!
