Grammy -

Come on, woman!! Slow it down!

Love these last two installments. I think I'm falling in love with your sweet Grampy. Y'all look so happy and that is AWESOME. I hope DH and I are taking trips to WDW alone once the nest is empty.

Keep it coming - but not so fast. I'm getting behind on my reading!

first thingys, first: ....well there reason the were a 100 viewers...
?....glad they can't be traced back to the one..( just :rolleyes1 )

also the reason i digress, iam in the "people" buisness, so
no one gets the wrong idea, how easy it is for me to be a stinker...
my meanings for being a true master..while others may place m with b...
isn't all my fault. [ever seen anne of green gables?...i know how she
feel ! ]

while, all the credit for me doing good is self evident, to my lil  :bride:

* besides if i need someone to take advantage of me..well that's
my lil miss cutie pie favorite "job"..something she has become very
good at, over the years.

soooo that u know..., take your time....i like hearing about all the special
ways you living life..:dance3: ..like dancing with your friends. now to me,
sounded like a splendid idea for your one of your diseny's traditions..
got video?

regarding that grampy: what a lucky fella, no wonder he's whistin'
"my :cloud9: goes where/evder that grammy goes..draggin him.."

ha! iam showing certain parts to my lil miss...i "see" how much you're
letting grampy get by with...messin with judy "in the sky" with diamonds...
so? is that why you wonder if he had fogotten , "who's the boss?"..how
nice you permitted his ego..to glow? ..well its christmas time.:santa:

{ of course, i am sure you have a few reminders before getting to forgetful?}
...pssst , it took me a few years of marriage to realized my lil
was always paying atention...but never said anything @ the time..only to
throw such encounters "up"..when she was losing ..a dis-cussin-ion.

nosy, ain't i? again..i am- in the people buisness so its my job!
sorry...

grampy, again...oh, :stitch: ...he sounded an "awful" lot like...some
one < pooh: >...you might heard of..having the "G" type name,

with one big & envious exception....still working! :scared:

:thumbsup2 what a "cute as the dickens" couple pic!

:grouphug: ...another warm hearted feeling is "seeing" great friends,
thru the years....make life richer. well not surprising, it is soo self evident
you are a good friend. no wonder when all the melly-stormers took you
to heart.

...and in my best horns' expression, added thanks :flower3: to the cook
master, sharing her pics...oh, what a terrible lost for the mellystormers,
and the whole boards losing our precious sheridac..her Irish ways and
all her lucky :shamrock: . no one was more charming than her!

grampy ?....let's me guess....a lil :wizard: who loves to make the pixiedust:
to happen for his children, grandchildren & all children but saving just a
lil "hidden" :tinker: for his all time favorite "girl' character { wonder who
that's? :rolleyes1 ] & just a tab of :donald: so never boring,
with :dumbo: in his eyes, to keep his :smickey: a surprise from someone
very special?

well if friends are good as gold then one that truly loves you, is the
jewel in life...they don't called it romancing the stone for nuthin, :goodvibes
see??? i told you my wife did a good job! you think?

...& now we know...what happend to the lil boy in the disney comm. a
few years back...that couldn't sleep the night before leaving for the
world...he became grampy!

ha! the magical express ...reference..here's a lil secret..that my wife
failed to revealed until after this year trip...o5...if you read my saga,
you may remember, me> :scared1: lost in the airport..behind a "mountain"
of luggage..only to find out from the 06 trip....with magical express,
was unnecessary..what happened,.. because we did the cruise...

before spending [ i used the term loosely...dosen't everyone? ]...a
week at the parks,

we did not received our magical express package @ home. instead, while
we were on the ship...and so we paid for something we didn't
get....nor was it "made up"..those walking past me at the
airport...:lmao: p.s.,... it was not funny to me!

:rolleyes1 if you guess i drink a lil coffee and have a penchant for
adventures, i wouldn't disagree, ( maybe)...

and have you noticed without sheri, how many malestormers taken off
to new pastures? just saying...:sad1:

i know i miss all her funnies...me> :lmao:

Grammy.....I love the Poly, too and Kona was our favorite meal from our last trip. I can see why you headed there first. What is the Christmas display that was not up this year? Bummer. Can't wait to hear what happens on the Poly beach. Great installment.....keep bringin it and don't slow down! ;)

Ah, Kona! And you and your pressed pot!! Our ADR is made for April, and we are both psyched to relive the precious memories!! I can't wait to hear how it was for you this time. Did Grampy get what he wanted for dinner?!:lmao:

Loving the pics and the flashbacks (the goody bags!!). And I love that you guys were working through "the list"!!!

Can't wait to hear about the "surprise"!!:dance3:

I was thinking there would be a report for your trip and I saw you post and clicked quickly onto your siggy link!

All caught up and waiting for more!

And again, with the goody bags. :sad2:

For the love of goody bags - I DID NOT steal anything:rotfl2: I was forced to carry them back to my room and somehow they ended up in my livingroom:lmao:

Are those your granbabies in your siggy. Beautiful.

Yes - those are by beautiful babies  Thanks!!

I hope DH and I are taking trips to WDW alone once the nest is empty.

Who said the nest is empty:confused3 I have a revolving door out front. If I get 2 consecutive nights that some offspring isn't parked in a bedroom, I am taking a sledgehammer to the walls and making a big walk in closet

grampy ?....let's me guess....a lil :wizard: who loves to make the pixiedust:

Lil G - You summed it up right there. Couldn't have said it better myself :cool1:

Don't you just love the Poly and Kona is my favorite! But don't tell anyone about it or everyone will be trying to get in there. I can remember back about 5 years ago you could walk into Le Cellier, and we did. Geez, now you need an act of Congress:scared1:

The WDW Christmas special, which I Tivo'd and have watched numerous times, has a big gingerbread display of the Poly and the monorail. I had heard from Sheridac it wasn't up when she was there in November but I still had hopes. It wasn't to be. :sad2:

Ash - that is soooooo funny because I had already worked on the next chapter and that is part of it:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: And hello - Nescrap is everywhere. I was so into the pressed pot or 3 :yay:

And I don't want anyone to look bad :stir: but I am only on day 1. How many chapters you think that may take? And I haven't even begun to let you know where every bathroom on property is and how we stopped in and visited every stinking one :upsidedow

You should've had Jami and crew with you. Then you could've stopped and visited every stinking one TWICE!!

Happy New Year, sweetie!!!!

"Happy , Healthy New Year to you and your lovely family"

Can't wait to here more about your trip.

:surfweb: Thanks for the enjoyable reading while eating breakfast.

We scurried ourselves around the 50 or so people hanging out in front of Kona and got all situated at a wonderful table after stopping and gazing at the luscious desserts. Our server for the evening promptly stopped and commented that we looked especially thirsty. Right she was! Jkay wanted to try a smoothie, R ordered some kind of specialty drink and I was all about the pressed pot. Grampy was in for some coffee too and she promised to keep the pressed pots coming till we raised our hand to stop.

Now, remember back when I said we were leaving the kids at home. Well, one kid is always by my side, Grampy. When it comes to ordering in a restaurant, Grammy knows best. I know what Grampy will eat and what he likes. It is funny and pathetic at the same time but Jkay and R have dined out with us 100’s of times. Sometimes, even they jump in on the act. So when the waitress returned to take our orders, Grampy informed her that his Bride (me) had indeed Ok’d his order because I was ordering something he wouldn’t like so he had to eat his own meal.

I ordered the Kona salad, which was superb and the rest of the crew had the Kona chowder, and all gave it a thumbs up. For dinner, the 3 Musketeers all had the filet, minus the mushrooms and scratch the asparagus and give us broccoli please. I wanted to try something different and ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Panko. Everyone enjoyed the filet and by the looks of their plates, they might not have even needed to be washed. They were sparkling. My dinner was very good, and the wasabi sauce was a perfect addition. I loved it. You would have thought we would have been stuffed, which we were, but no trip to Kona is complete without dessert. So we ordered the macadamia nut torte, an apple brown betty with ice cream and the chocolate lava torte. Yep, we ate it all with one more pressed pot and add a cup for R.

Our wonderful CM returned and asked if we were on the dining plan or had a DDE card. Grampy was as happy as a pig in poop to break out that 20% off DDE card. A little aside; the $60 we paid for this card, was recouped quickly. We had used it for drinks only in October because we were on the free dining plan. Multiply 4 gluttons that like to eat and drink by 9 days and it adds up to quite a savings. Plus, the receipt shows your bill total minus the 20%. For the mathematically challenged, which may include me, it made it super easy to figure out the tip, and 20% was right before your eyes. Add to that, this crew puts me in charge of everything. They think I am a genius and Jkay and R are regular dining and travel companions. We always just split the bill and tip a minimum of 20%. My IQ raised about 10 points this trip because I was so quick on the figures. Don’t anyone tell the secret, kay.

This is a classic picture, for the whole trip. R thinking, I am fat and full and will be crawling into bed in 5 minutes, and Jkay knowing the truth, we still had tons of things to do.

We literally rolled out of Kona and walked out the back doors to the Poly beach. I wanted Jkay to see it all and a walk after all that food wouldn’t hurt either. So we toured the entire grounds of the Poly, pointing out the pools, the views and the utter beauty of the place. We ended up back on the beach and plopped ourselves at a table to watch the Electrical Water Parade. There were about 10 other people sitting on the beach and it was a clear but cold night. The parade was just about to start, when a guy behind us ran up and said the countdown is on, look up. He was on his cell and started the 10, 9, 8 countdown.

We all jumped up to watch the shuttle blasting off! It was incredible, fantastic and you could see it clear as day, an unbelievable sight. To see this live, as it happened, from WDW was as exhilarating feeling. Everyone on the beach was cheering and clapping and watched till there was nothing left to see. There was not a face on the beach that wasn’t beaming. We were in awe of what we had witnessed. When all eyes returned to the water, the parade was already almost over. Groans all around, but miracles of miracles, maybe they too had been watching, the lights went out, the boats turned around and we had our own do over. Perfect, this night was turning out to be a Mary Poppins kind of night.

A few seconds later we heard the music being piped in and were able to enjoy Wishes. The last time I had seen Wishes from the Poly was with the Maelstrommers in October and I reflected back to that practically perfect night. The beach was a lot more crowded in my mind. Apparently, Grampy was thinking the same thing. He laughed and said “I wonder what is happening at band camp?” his code word for all our DIS friends. When Wishes ended we pulled ourselves off the beach and headed to the monorail. R asked how we get back. I winked at Jkay and said “We hop on the monorail and grab a bus over at the Magic Kingdom” So we indeed hopped on the monorail.

When we pulled into the Grand Floridian I announced we were going in since we were already here. Truth be know, that was the plan, but only Grampy knew. We lingered outside for awhile to look at all the poinsettias and displays. Then we did the redneck thing and walked into the Grand Floridian and tried to act like we belonged there. The lobby is gorgeous and they had the huge tree, the gingerbread house, and live music. It really is lovely but I can’t ever imagine myself staying there. Too many people walking around in tuxedos and furs and me in my jeans and sneakers.

Photopass people were everywhere, so we started racking up the pictures.

After I was totally satisfied that we had seen it all and had indeed crossed several things off the real list and the one in my mind, we walked outside and hopped into a taxi to trek back to ASSports. One last stop, to grab some refillable mugs. We need them and my cabinets are calling from home to remind me. Fill those babies up and leisurely stroll back to the rooms. Jkay asks what the plan is for the AM and I tell her to be ready by 8 and we are heading over to the MGM studios.

Grampy hits the bed almost before the door is open. But for anyone who doubts he is a romantic at heart, take note. The last thing he said before falling asleep “If you get up 1st make sure you get a paper when you go get coffee.” How do I know exactly what he said? Cause I was writing notes in the TR notebook and it was properly noted.

Up next – An empty parking lot and a DIS green sweater makes me a star!

We all jumped up to watch the shuttle blasting off!...Perfect, this night was turning out to be a Mary Poppins kind of night.
That is so cool!!! Sounds practically perfect in every way!
When we pulled into the Grand Floridian I announced we were going in since we were already here. Truth be know, that was the plan, but only Grampy knew.
It's my policy never to reveal "the plan" in advance lest someone may nix it. I love the Grand Floridian but feel a little like a country cousin come to town. I don't think I would stay there either but I love to visit.
“If you get up 1st make sure you get a paper when you go get coffee.”
How romantic!!! Sounds like my husband only you can insert "jumble" instead of "crossword" when it comes to the morning paper. :lmao:

Grammy, sounds like a perfect evening!!

I was watching the shuttle go off from my back yard tha night too. It really was fabulous! Unfortunately for me, the ELP and Wishes are nowhere to be seen from there, though.

I love that the EWP did a do-over!

Doug is doing this :lmao: about Grampy's code word for the strommers. :)

The pictures are amazing!! I love that you swooped a GF side trip on the crowd. Hey, my motto is if you want me to plan the trip, get in the car and enjoy the ride.

The Shuttle!! That is unbelievable. I had no idea you could see it from there. Like Kimmie, I love that the CMs replayed the EWP.

I was one of the lucky ones that October night on the Poly beach. I am the type of Wishes addict that needed a moment of solitude to absorb it all on the beach. My foreground was Grammy and Grampy, arm in arm, watching the show across the water.

I can't believe the Poly scaled back their decorations! What's up with that?? :confused3 I hope you took it up with management. Would you like me to take care of that for you?

Bravo!! More! More!

So when the waitress returned to take our orders, Grampy informed her that his Bride (me) had indeed Ok’d his order because I was ordering something he wouldn’t like so he had to eat his own meal.

Ahh, so THAT's where we went wrong last time. Did you forget to OK his order because you were too busy with the tattoo discussion???

Everyone enjoyed the filet and by the looks of their plates, they might not have even needed to be washed. They were sparkling.

OH, man, we LOVE that Filet. And my plate was sparkling, too. I can't wait to have it again!!!

So we ordered the macadamia nut torte, an apple brown betty with ice cream and the chocolate lava torte.

Favorite? I don't recall loving the macadamia torte. What would you recommend??

Plus, the receipt shows your bill total minus the 20%. For the mathematically challenged, which may include me, it made it super easy to figure out the tip, and 20% was right before your eyes.......We always just split the bill and tip a minimum of 20%. My IQ raised about 10 points this trip because I was so quick on the figures. Don’t anyone tell the secret, kay.

That IS the best, isn't it? It's the hidden benefit of that card that they don't tell you about. 'Cause we all know how much the Maelstromers hate to do math!!

Grampy hits the bed almost before the door is open. But for anyone who doubts he is a romantic at heart, take note. The last thing he said before falling asleep “If you get up 1st make sure you get a paper when you go get coffee.”

What a charmer he is!!!!!!!!!!;)

Loving this report, Grammy!! It is so so cool that you got to see the shuttle. AND the EWP bonus, too. And Wishes on the beach. Tell Gramps thanks for benembering us!!

How cool you got to watch the shuttle.

Love seeing the picture of you two in front of the Gingerbread house. I heard about the houses but I didn't know they were life size. Keep the pictures coming.
