$25 Restaurant G/C for $20 at TRU

I was at TRU last night and there was a sign by the Gift Cards that all Restaurant Gift Card $25 or more were $5 off. I bought 2- Red Lobster/Olive Garden, 1- Outback and 1 - Applebees for $80. I might have to go back and get more. Not sure how long the sale is good on.

That's what I love about this time of year. Many restaurants give either a discount or a free $5 card with a purchase. I buy GC at the places I eat and get the free one for me to use as well. Chili's and Lonestar Steakhouse are already offering this. Usually Rubios does too.

Only thing about the $5 cards is they usually have an expiration date. Normally it's 1-2 months. Most can't be used on the day of purchase. Some you have to wait until 1/1/11 to start to use.

What's nice about it is while your expenses in Nov/Dec. go up (buying GC) your expenses in Jan/Feb and beyond will be less.

Thanks for the info--I'll check it out! I was going to do the buy $100/get $20 deal at Outback, but this one is actually a little better.

FYI--you can use Outback cards at Carrabba's or Bonefish.
