When I booked this trip I didn't think it would ever get here, now there's only three weeks and change left!!! DW and I decided to plan this back in February as a way to beat the February doldrums and boy did it work. We planned, planned, planned until spring arrived and our thoughts turned to the beach
The fun part for us is that our kids have no idea. Keeping the secret hasn't been too difficult and it's made easier by the fact that our kids are 5 and 3. We fly out on the morning of 9/12 and we won't tell the kids until we get to school. As we get ready to make the turn into the parking lot DW is going to ask, "would you rather go to school today or go to Disney World?". She'll have the video camera running and we hope to get a great response. The bags will be packed and in the trunk so we'll just bypass school and head for the airport.
Our oldest son will be in just his 3rd week of kindergarten, so we don't feel too bad about him missing the time in class. To ease our semi-guilty minds we worked with him all summer so that he would be reading by the time school started. Mission accomplished
When we get to the airport we'll pull their pin lanyards out and head for our plane. They've never flown so we expect that the excitement level will be high. We land at MCO around 11AM and we'll take DME to Poly for check-in, then it's straight to MK for Buzz, Peter Pan and Splash Mtn. We're hoping for light September crowds so we can get a good day in and accomplish the goal of giving the MK a good once over before heading to Tony's for our first night's dinner. After dinner we'll head back to Poly and put the kids down to rest for day 2.
DAY 2
Up early to be at AK for the opening. We plan on touring until about 2PM and covering our kid's wish lists: DS5 Everest (until he sees it), Kali and the Safari. DS3 the Boneyard and safari. We'll eat lunch on the run, then haed back to Poly for pool time and nap before dinner at O'hana. After dinner we'll watch Wishes from the beach and then head to bed.
DAY 3
We'll start off with a lazy morning
, having breakfast with Stitch at 9AM, then heading to DTD so the kids can build lightsabers (I may build one as well). We'll head from DTD over to MGM and grab a CS lunch and hit a couple of shows before the 3PM Stars and Motorcars Parade so the kids can see the PowerRangers. After the parade we'll boat over to EPCOT and get ready for our early dinner at Le Cellier. We'll try and stick it out for Illuminations, but the kids will be the barometer for that. If they're tired and we need to go back to Poly we'll try and watch the MNSSHP fireworks from the beach.
DAY 4
MK for opening
and an all day adventure (except for a rest break back at Poly) ending with a dinner at Crystal Palace and then Wishes!!!! We'll hit everything once (and most things twice). This is our first Sept visit and even if the crowds are heavier than we're anticipating we feel like we've done the circuit enough times to get it all covered.
DAY 5
Early to the MK for Magical Beginnings, leaving the park by 11AM so we can get back to MCO for our return flight home. After we get the kids to bed we'll start talking about how to do it better next year and we have even put a call in to CRO for our 2008 ressies.
